Jennifer- It appears the Canon Powershot SX10 IS is the replacement for the S5 IS. It is 10.1 megapixel, has a hotshoe, a 20x optical zoom and image stabilization, plus the flip screen. It is not coming out until October.

It looks pretty nice. I have been eyeing up DSLR's but this likes it could be another option. Then again I have told myself I am not replacing my Sony DSC-H1 camera till it dies.

What camera do you have? I have a Fuji that has full manual modes, but it's not near as nice as the S5 IS. I love the 12x opitcal zoom! And the moveable LCD, hot shoe adapter, "super macro" capabilities (although I think that name sounds dumb :)), etc. It's definitely a newer, cooler version than mine, and I hear such great reviews about it!

but I agree the Canons are so cool!! But, you live with what you can afford and my pics come out as good as some from slr's it's camera operator too!!

grrrrrr is right. I hope you get everything done. I am off for the grocery store... finally!

we went to Costco...I about cried about how many items have gone up in price, since I got them less than a month ago :scared1:

Actually, I would love everyone's help if you can!

I'm trying to figure out how I can word that the ring bearer pillow is from my grandma's communion dress which was mine as well and is now the ring bearer pillow. Whatever I come up with I feel like I'm writing a book.

Anyone? :teeth:

The ring pillow holds special memories for the bride as it was her grandma's first Communion dress.

Since I am confined to a carry on....do they have a weight limit on them?? I can only see size restrictions. I gotta know how many books I can bring to Glynis!!

I completely agree! ::yes:: My MIL/FIL have a ridiculously nice dSLR and all the additions. Our pictures often turn out similar, despite my camera costing HUNDREDS of dollars less, and being 2+ years old! :goodvibes

I'll have to check out the Kodak cameras!

Ooooh that looks so nice! Alas, I'm never willing to get the newest cameras because they always have to work out kinks. I don't have that kind of money to give up, unfortunately!

Oh my gosh. If my pictures turn out half as good as these (taken with the S5) it will have been well worth it! :worship:

I got the girls a really inexpensive one to share so Cassidy wasn't taking my expensive one to NY and it takes great pics, but I hate not having a view finder http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8671804&type=product&id=1197074522114

This is the newest version of mine http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8942415&type=product&id=1215217299266

Just know this, Glynis would rather have you bring Theresa than books!!!!

well yeah....if they don't let me have a carry on...I'd just do laundry every night. :rotfl2: Neither heck nor high water is keeping me away from you!!

Elin - Congrats on 17,000!

Theresa - Depends on the airline. American I *think* is 40 pounds for carry-on. Thing is, you have to be able to lift the dang thing into the overhead bin. I am not supposed to lift more than 30 pounds because of my back, and I am REALLY not supposed to lift anything that heavy over my head! :rotfl2: Just don't pack it so heavy that you hurt yourself.

DH told DS to get in the shower. DS wanders off and comes back a little while later, not showered. I tell him to get in the shower. He wanders to the bathroom. Time passes. I go to the door and tell him GET IN THE SHOWER! He says "I AM in the shower. I just have to turn the water on!" Um, yes, that is typically a requirement of a shower. My child is a dingbat. :sad2:

Elizabeth, nah he's not a dingbat, the kid at CVS this evening was a dingbat (and that is being nice). He left his mom's car running while they were both inside. :scared1:

A very long time ago I worked retail. I went to get a sandwich at Subway for lunch. As I was getting ready to get out of the car another car pulled up behind me and blocked me in. It made me very nervous, and distracted me so much that I left the car running AND I locked the door when I got out! :scared1: When I came back out with my lunch the car was locked AND still running. I had to call my mother to bring the spare key. Thank goodness the Black Pearl "knows" when the keys are inside and won't lock until I get the keys out! :rotfl:

I locked one of my charges in the car once, too. Same car, if I am not mistaken! But she managed to get the door unlocked before DH got there with the spare key.

I locked myself out of the house one time when my charges were sleeping. I had to run next door and call my boss to bring me a key.

Then there was the day DH picked up DS from me and took my keys with him so I was stranded at work. After that I had a spare key made and left it in the drawer at work. Since the Black Pearl is keyless that is no longer an option.
