Well, I have plane tickets for our March trip. It was $75-$100 cheaper each than the last couple of years at this time. I am happy about that. Now, I need to make room reservations. Elizabeth, try not to faint that I've waited so long.

:yay: for airfare!!

I had a beautiful view coming home on Thursday night. The sun was setting over Lake Michigan just as I was crossing the Mackinac Bridge. I got my camera out, rolled down my window, and just kept clicking. I had no idea whether they would turn out or what I was "capturing". I got about 30 pictures and most of them are quite nice. Here are a couple of the better ones.

I have a little packing left to do so I am going to get off here and get it completed. I did get my lesson plans for the next two weeks done this morning so I have some time to myself each day that I was not anticipating.

However, I just got a recall letter on my new little car. :( The fuel pump may not be working properly (and I have noticed some of the symptoms described) and needs to be replaced. So, I think it will go into the shop either early this week or while we are gone. It will take time to set that all up too. Glad I have some time free!

Vicki - Those shots are lovely! What a beautiful drive home you have.

We are thinking about doing a split stay in March. I think I have talked Chuck into it not being too bad to move once. Our view isn't really important to us. We don't really spend time on the balcony or looking out the window (though we did spend more time there in June to get away from the rest of the family). We are looking at a standard at AKV for the 1st half of the trip and then move to Boardwalk for the 2nd half. Any thoughts? We are trying to check out the different DVC resorts to see what we think. Of course, all this depends on availability since I waited so long to book.

Yes, the U.P. is a very beautiful place. I should stop and take more pictures of what I see driving across it. U.S. 2 runs along Lake Michigan for many parts of it. I always love the drive across the Big Mac because the view is fantastic. There are the boats running to & fro to Mackinac Island, the big freighters going under the bridge, and the Great Lakes all around.

Glad to hear you got the lesson plans done. Sorry to hear about the car. Of course, it is always better to get it fixed for free.

The ring pillow holds special memories for the bride as it was her grandma's first Communion dress.

So I finished Kingdom Keepers 2 today. It is definitely set up so there could be a sequel. It was very good.

very pretty Vicki!! Congrats on airfare!!:cool1:

I agree!

Good night, friends.

Good night, Elin! Sorry about the fuel pump. :guilty: Seems like we had one replaced in my last Altima, but I can't remember if it was a recall or just a waranty repair.

I think you better call and see what's still available before you convince Chuck to do a split stay! ;) Kidani won't be open yet, and I don't know how many standard studios are in Jambo. But the standard studios at Jambo are all pool view so they are very nice. That's what we had in August. We had to waitlist for it but we did eventually get all of the nights we wanted.

after 8 1/2 days without power we have it back. thanks to Ike we lost power last Saturday morning. our house didn't get damaged thank god but our street looked like a tornado went through it. some neighbors lost trees, cars, had trees in their houses or have to move out to get house fixed. watty did well except mow he is sick with something.

well yeah....if they don't let me have a carry on...I'd just do laundry every night. :rotfl2: Neither heck nor high water is keeping me away from you!!

Karen, I am so glad you posted. Hope whatever Watson has is something small and can be taken care of soon .

I'm really looking forward to reading it. I still have to order it.

I have it in the trunk of my car. I could read it and put it back in the bag and DS would never know the difference!

Karen - I am glad you are all safe! Being without power for that long would be really unpleasant. Did you go to a hotel? I hope Watty feels better soon! :wizard:
