DDA Chapter 11

Has this ever happened to you all:

I KNOW I read all of page 221 but when I went to 222 there were a lot quoted posts from that page that I didn't see,:confused3 , anyway:

Yeah!! Becky...no fracture!!:cool1:

Elizabeth-glad Dadboss is okay. On my second trip to FL I was entertained immensely by an obviously drunk lady that walked into the mirrored wall right beside us twice and twice into a sliding glass door. :rotfl2:

Deb-glad you talked to your boss about the doorknob (co-worker)

Just a reminder I'm taking information for the DDA ornament exchange...I haven't received as many as I have in the past....I may end up sending to myself at this rate:lmao:

Well considering you live there and I have only been to the JFK museum, the Round Up, some Mexican restaurant and Lucky's, I'm sure it leaves many choices. Really anything would be just great!! We're pretty easy going.

I need to scoot. It's back to school night at Em's school and the book fair. I'll be back later.

But I LOVE Lucky's and the Round Up! :rotfl:
I don't get out much. I shop. A lot. But I don't really do lots of touristy, interesting, fun things. Most of our dining is done in chain restaurants.

What does Emma want to see and do, other than the American Girl store? What sort of food does she like?

Marci - Any thoughts? We need to see if Lindsay is free, too. :)

Theresa - Actually, that has been happening to me a lot lately with not seeing a post until it is quoted later on. Weird!
Drunks can definitely be entertaining. When they aren't part of your group. :rolleyes1

The weather was icky today. I think there was more damage today then from Hanna. I saw a huge tree that fell on a house, the porch was knocked off and it may have been into the house as well.

I have Kingdom keepers 2 to read from the library.

More boxes!

Does anyone know what happened to the holiday skin? I have changed from Orlando Blue (which is now the default color) to Serenity Green, but I want to change soon to the holiday skin.

Chanon, Anne Marie did you know the Christmas parade will be taped on the 6th?

We do not have plans for MK this day, which s probably a good thing lol
:thumbsup2

Three great things happened today! We've booked our horseback riding for Nassau, got our marriage license, and Bob said we have 2 more boxes at the house for my virtual shower! WHO HOO!

Good news- I no longer have a fracture in my foot. The part that was fractured is still much narrower then the rest of the bone. So I have to wear the walking boot for 2 more weeks. Then I can start wearing shoes. I have to go back again on October 21st to make sure everything is still good. The doctor seemed surprised and impressed that it was healing on its own.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!:goodvibes
Good news! Nice picture of you & your brother!

Yep! For some reason I hear that the monorail get's busy on parade day. :confused3 I think if we went in the evening we'd be fine...I'm definately not going during parade time! What do we have planned this day?

Epcot with lunch in France & I think you were planning on the CP. I wonder if anyone worth seeing will be there :rolleyes1

Deb glad you said something to your boss, sounds like this person does not really care for this job. Sorry about your laptop :sad2:

Becky great picture & good news on your foot!

Elizabeth glad Dadboss is ok!

Jennifer I am so not a good person to answer your question on the tummy flab/fat. I have never been one to exercise nor do I ever see myself starting. So with that being said, yes I do think you can get rid of the pouch with exercise. My sister wore size zero(whatever that is suppose to be :confused3 )when she became pregnant the 1st time. After birth she was able to wear her jeans home from the hospital  With as tiny as she was, she never had a pouch. The same after her following two pregnancies & she never exercised either. So back to my original point :rotfl: yes I think I think you can get rid of it :goodvibes

Sounds like just about everyone could use  & :wizard: !!!

:woohoo: Great news!

Don't you know the rule about trading in the car after you spill something in it? :confused3
OR....if the car is only a year old when the soda explodes and you're leaving on a trip to Dinsey the next day and have not time to clean it yourself you can pay a professional to clean it.:thumbsup2

Since I posted it on the cruise thread. Here is a picture of my brother and I before boarding the ship.

Great photo! Your shirts look great!

Thanks for the reminder. I have to try to get to bed early tonight after staying up way too late last night. I'll try to get my info to you tomorrow.

Thanks ladies! What is ticking me off is that I have no reason to feel sorry for myself or be blue. For some reason, just telling myself to get over it hasn't worked. :confused3 Venting does help, so thanks for listening...or not -- I do tend to go on....

Merrie (the lady whose company I run) just walked in to my office saying, "I can't live this way Marci." And I'm sure I gave her this startled look like she had just read my mind. She was talking about the screw-up the new admin made to her travel, and since the other admin is out sick I best get to it. Lunch over!
I hope you get over whatever it is soon. Sometimes I get that way too and just want to be left allow so I can wallow in self-pity.

Hello, DDA!

I am sorry that I dropped off the face of the boards for a while. It's been a little crazy getting the preschool up and running. Yesterday was the orientation, and today was the first day of class for the 3 year olds. We have a small class this year, and so far only two criers. The one little boy cried and screamed for close to 20 minutes and then a switch just flipped, and he was fine and charming the rest of the day. The other little boy had his mother stay for the first 30 minutes and then cried when she left. He was easier to console, though, and didn't cry for that long. He did start up again when Mom came back to pick him up, though. Then there is another little girl whose mother stayed and stayed and stayed, but she had absolutely no problem with mom leaving and she was actually much better behaved for us than Mom.
:scared: You allow moms to stay?!?!?! I think that would drive me bananas. Sometimes I think it is harder on the moms than the kids.

Oh good. The day we LEAVE!

other than one kid I taught it is harder on the parent than the kid.

So I think I failed to tell you all about the "soda incident" last week....

I was putting cans of soda into the refrigerator and dropped one (overly ambitious, I suppose ). Well it must have got banged up just right on the way down, because when it hit the floor it EXPLODED all over the kitchen. I have a fairly large kitchen, and it was wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling.... from the garage/bathroom/entry, to the back of the house, to the family room. Under the island overhand, on the bottom sides of all the furniture (stools, chairs, breakfast table, etc), and of course all over the tops. All over the inside and outside of the fridge, on the windows and doors, all over the walls.

It was ridiculous.

And today, it happened in my car. I elbowed a 44-ounce (?) cup of Diet Coke (the ginormous cups from Sams), which flew into the backseat. The lid was mostly off, and coke was going EVERYWHERE, so I quickly grabbed it to put it back 'together' and saw that the straw had punched through the bottom of the foam cup. In order to pick it up and throw it out my door (quite literally), I had to effectively fling more soda ALL OVER the inside of my car, including on the girls' heads. No joke.

Then, when pumping gas not 1 minute after cleaning up this mess (to the best of my ability, with just burp clothes and blankets to use!), I pulled the nozzle out and before I had even attempted to start, it drizzled all over me.

Today, I'm most thankful that some days we are in unexplainable GOOD moods, no? Otherwise, I might have jumped off a cliff. :rotfl:
Do you get the feeling that someone is trying to tell you "NO MORE SODA. NO MORE SODA"? And you just keep saying "NO NO NO!"

How on earth did you get the kitchen cleaned up? That may have cause me to just sell the house and move.

Speaking of things exploding and going EVERYWHERE...
Dadboss walked into the sliding glass door between the playroom and the kitchen last night. Princess closed it, and he walked straight into the glass. It shattered, and pretty much covered every inch of the playroom in microscopic shards of glass. :scared1: He has a cut on his forearm, but other than that he is OK. They cleaned and cleaned last night and there was still glass everywhere this morning. I helped him roll up the rug because there was glass embedded in it. Princess sits on that rug all the time, walks across it on her knees, there was just no way to make it safe for her. Luckily Momboss already bought a NEW rug because she was going to get rid of the old one. I went over the playroom floor with the Dyson, then I went over it again with a broom. I thought the floor was pretty clean, but then Princess picked up a chunk of glass and handed it to me! I told her NOT to pick up anymore pieces, just show them to me.
DS has walked into that door before, so I am thankful it didn't break when he ran into it. I am also thankful Dadboss wasn't severely injured, and that Princess wasn't injured by flying glass!

We did go to the zoo for a couple of hours this morning before the rain drove us away. DH is off today, so he came along. The zoo is having a photo contest, so maybe he will enter. He took some pics but I haven't looked at any of them yet.
This is precisely why I don't do windows. Or sliding doors. If they are sparkly clean, no one can see them. ;) :rotfl:
