DDA Chapter 11

Good Morning,

We didn't find out if we are having a Pirate or a Princess yesterday, the baby did not cooperate, so we will have to wait another month. Good news is all is well. All Brandon had to say about the baby was it was rolled up in a ball.

My dad had his appointment with his doctor here, he is doing well but still tires easily. He has an appointment with the Pace maker rep to "fine tune" things.

Jennifer - We've all been there, but for the most part our spouses have survived. My DH would visit his mom with the girls quite often when I was working and he was in charge, I think his biggest fear was the dirty diapers. :lmao:

Amy - I hope you're not too sore this morning

Terry and Steffy - Sorry your jobs are giving you such a rough time

Deb - Can't wait to see the Mr. Potato Head costume

Thanks again for all your good thoughts, it looks like we won't even be getting a breeze form Ike, a huge differnce from it heading straight for us. Let's just keep praying that noone is harmed from it.

We're off to spend the morning at the hospital, my MIL is having her knee replacement redone, she has worn out here parts. I'll be taking my crocheting, it's a good way to pass the time.

Becky, Oriental Trading would be a good source for items for the fish extenders.

So I came up with a crazy idea of making Nick into Mr. Potato Head for his costume. I want to make the various body parts with extras and have them velcro on. That way we could change his appearance. What do you all think?

Love it! I can't wait to see how you do it.

Hello DDA! I'm waaaaayyyyy back. A least 20 pages. So this is a drive by posting just to let you all know I'm thinking about you.

This has been one of the most stress filled days of my career. I just finished a Cosmopolitan. :drinking:

I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is looking to be just as bad.:headache: :headache:

 :grouphug:  Hope it goes better than you are anticipating, Stephanie.

I have had two VERY TALL gin & tonics and maybe having a glass of sherry as well after today.

Wow... I am glad I wasn't at your place of business yesterday, you two. Best of luck that today is better! :grouphug:

I gotta go to bed. I am still sickish. I wish I could get rid of the Disney crud.

I have my doctor appointment tomorrow for my foot. I hope it is healed enough so I do not need surgery.

Hope you are having good weeks.

good luck!!

Morning everyone!
Well this is the first morning that I dont feel super nervous so things are getting better! I stayed at work really late yesterday (after 6) so my goal today is to be out of there by 5!

Thanks for the quoteable post Deb. Elizabeth I have kept my lip zipped and maybe I shouldn't have. Thank you Deb for your brave post.

Well, I've talked way too much. I'm going to bed. :grouphug: to you Elizabeth. I know you just want to protect your mom and you want to do SOMETHING to extend her life. And feeling very helpless in the process. But sometimes peace is the greatest gift of all.

This was full of beautiful sentiment, Stephanie. And so very true. It is a hard task and one I don't wish on anyone. Knowing there is really nothing you can do and railing at that prospect... I remember it well. Sometimes I let it go, and sometimes it was almost impossible. to both you and Elizabeth.

More importantly, so did our kids! :rotfl2:

I am glad you are feeling more comfortable as you settle into this. I hope you have fun today!

I have been trying to get onto the Disneyworld site all morning without any luck. Anyone else having trouble?

ETA: It seems to be working now. And, dare I say, seems to be faster!

Sorry work is yucky! Hope it improves soon!! :wizard:

You said it all quite so well, Stephanie. to both you and Elizabeth.

I guess I want Mom to take it easy for selfish reasons. I don't want to be Diva's mother. I don't want to drop everything and fly to KS when Mom is hospitalized because I am the only daughter who WILL drop everything and go. I don't want DS to lose the very last grandparent he has. Yes, we are ALL going to die. But if Mom is careless and purposely does things that jeopardize her recovery then I will be the one who has to deal with it. I will have to pick up the pieces. I will have to be the strong, responsible one who takes care of all of it so the other two can flail and whine. I don't want that. I do understand where you guys are coming from, and I appreciate it! I am just not in a place where I can take that advice to heart.

If you like people who are a little dark and twisty, then you must meet my sister.

Great! Is Dawn coming to WDW in August 2010?

Morning everyone!

Thanks, Elin.

Nope. Haven't tried.

Off to the shower. We were going to try to go tot he zoo today but it may end up being very rainy. Guess we'll see!

Were the girls making the goat noise? That's when you know a baby is seriously ticked off. The cry changes to something more like a bleat. If nobody had reached goat stage yet I would have made him deal on his own. :rotfl2:

Oh, they get to the bleat pretty quickly in the evenings. :rotfl: Elise takes it a step farther and does this God awful high pitched thing, but he was just totally on edge. We both know darn well that a freaked out mom/dad can't calm a baby down, but I swear I thought he was about to just ground them and walk out of the room, hoping that worked. :teeth: He came into the laundry room (unfortunately (at that moment - ordinarly it's great) on the same level as the bedrooms) and said "What do I do?! Why are they so crazy tonight?!" I just smiled, and said as politely as possible, "Kyle, this is exactly how it goes every night. Usually you just have help. I, however, often don't. ;)". He walked back in, tried desperately to calm them down, but to no avail.

Needless to say, I "rescued them" for my OWN sanity! :rotfl:
