All kidding aside, stay safe!

Good Morning DDA,

Sorry I've been MIA, things have been CRAZY at work and I've been working extra hours to try and get things on order.

I have quite a bit of catching up to do but I see Elizabeth's mom could use some PD, :wizard:

My dad made it back home yesterday, I got the whole story when I went to see him yesterday and it was MUCH worse than they let me know when they called. If he hadn't been in Nashville, and only a mile away from the hospital, I wouldn't have a dad today. He is doing well, be he isn't as well as he let on either, but considering what he went through he is doing great.

I'll be returning the favor and remembering those of you in Hannah's path in my prayers.
I'm glad to finally hear from you. We were getting concerned! It's wonderful that your dad is doing so well.

If you all could continue to lift Kristen and Joel up in your prayers (the friends I mentioned the other day), they got some pretty bad news this week.

Wednesday was Joel's biopsy, and they knew pretty quickly that the cancer had returned. On Thursday, they found that what they suspected "at worst" was true -- there were cancer cells in his spinal fluid. Essentially, after one week of remission, a cancer that had originally been one that - given Joel's age, health, etc - should have been very easily curable, will eventually take his life, although with no approximate timeline even. For now, they are looking at much more aggressive chemotherapy, and then radiation and a bone marrow transplant, assuming they can find a donor.

I know they appreciate and covet all the prayers they can get!
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Good morning, DDA!

The heavy rains have begun here. No major wind yet, however.
Depending upon which weather forecast we watch the amount of rain expected here varies greatly. TWC just said around 2" and 40 mph winds. But the local meteorologists are saying 1-2" per hour for several hours and 40-50 mph winds. I hope TWC is correct!
The way it's raining I would bet 1-2 per hour!

Good morning. :)

I have to get ready and go out in this crap. I have a 10:30 appt. with a mortgage guy, and I really don't want to cancel.

Amy - Hang in there, this too shall pass.

Jennifer - How sad, I'll be adding your friends to my prayers. Love the pictures of the girls, they are growing so fast.

Robyn - Congrats on Mo starting school, I hope you don't get any water from Hannah.

Elizabeth - Lot's of PD for mom :wizard:

Steffy - Glad to hear things went well with your Dad

Karen - Love the pictures of Watkins, :wizard: hope his tests come out good.

Becky - Welcome Home!

Janet -I've never heard of peanut butter with chili, at our house chili means taco salads. We put lettuce and tomato in a plate, top that with fritos, layer on chili and top that with shredded cheese, then you add your choice of salsa, sour cream and jalapenos. No sides needed.

Deb - good luck with the diet bandwagon, my wagon is still creepiing along, periodically it stops or even rolls backwards a bit but I still have the determination to stay with it. I put on a couple of pounds in Disney, but I've taken those off and another 4 to go with it so I'm pleased. I tried on a pair of DD's jeans the other day, and was thrilled that I was able to get them on. I wouldn't wear them as they were too tight, but I got them on without having to lay on the bed to button them.

Can you believe that after all the chaos we're going through at work with the Gustav "Pack and Panic" that by the end of next week we will probably be under another hurrican watch with Ike? We didn't board up for Gustav, but if Ike heads this way I'm sure we will.

Yuck! Stay safe, and good luck at the meeting!

Thanks! I hope that Ike doesn't cause any more problems that Gustav already did!

All kidding aside, stay safe!

:rotfl2: No live video here, Debbie! We are not having nearly the weather that you did. However, the winds have picked up and I-95 is closed north of Richmond due to flooding and downed power lines. The track in our patio doors has filled up with water. The wind is blowing the rain against the back part of the house which is not the way our storms normally come.

Kristin and I started a new tradition of pampering ourselves with manicures (just general nail care and polish) every two weeks. We have a 2:00 appointment this afternoon but I am thinking that we are not going to make it!

Debbie, it is good to see you posting!! :goodvibes
I hope your dad continues to do well! I am not surprised that he minimized the issues when he spoke to you.
Good luck getting things back in order at work! I hope Ike doesn't require a repeat of packing all of the stuff you just put back! :headache:

Lots of good thoughts for them! :wizard: How sad. :sad2:

Ick! Drive carefully!

  How horrible. I hope the aggressive therapy will by him lots of time

Ike is looking like a huge monster at this point. I hope that he peters out a lot before he hits the US. :wizard:

I hope the house stays dry. Strong winds and rain are not a good combination

Tammi stay safe. I'm sure the road will be very hard to navigate

Debbie- Thanks for checking in. Glad to hear your dad is on the mend.

Jennifer- Your friends are in my prayers. How brave.:wizard:

Amy- Hang in there.'s I hope Kevin's injury heals quickly.

Elizabeth- Sending lots of :wizard: for your mom. Diva needs a swift kick in the pants.'s for you

Tammi- Stay safe in the weather.

Elin- I hope you and Kristin can get your pampering in today.

I am hopeful that we will fare just fine through Hanna. We are just now starting to get a steady rain and the wind is picking up just a bit. Thanks for all the good thoughts.

Here are a few pics from Mo's first day of school. She had a blast and her teacher said she's a real doll. Hopefully she stay that way and not show her true colors. Mo told me that "the boy in the blue shirt did not listen to the teacher at all". I asked her if she did and she rolled her eyes at me and said "Of course Mommmm!!!"

We don't have much on tap for today. Chris headed off to the car show (In the rain). The boys and I will hang out here since it is raining and is predicted to all day and night. The rain here is gentle at least for now. It is very humid too. I'm not sure if my parents are coming here to watch the kids or if I'm bringing them there. I've already got the laundry going and the floors vacuumed and beds made. I've got some surfaces that have gained clutter over the last week so I guess I should declutter again. I would pack for camping next week, but I have no idea what the weather will be :confused3

Robyn - Cute pics of Mo! I am sure she will behave for the teacher. Momboss asked me yesterday if Princess behaves for me when I have her by myself. (She was a little wild at lunch.) I told her ALL kids behave better when the parents aren't around. Princess is actually a very, very well-behaved little girl the majority of the time. She just likes to push the envelope with Momboss. ;)

Debbie, continued good thoughts for your dad. :wizard:

Jennifer, continued good thoughts for your friend. :wizard:
