What a weekend this turned into!
Friday morning our ladies bowling league started. I think this pregnancy is going to throw off my already non-existant bowling skills! I didn't do too well the first 2 games. In the third game, however, I rallied and got myself my first turkey ever!!!
Friday afternoon, as soon as the kids got home from school, we left them with Katie in charge. Alan had found a set of bunk beds (twin on top, full on bottom) complete with the full mattress for 120 dollars. We drove to the seller's house and got that onto our trailer, then took it home. While I was driving, Alan was on the computer and found a twin size mattress that was being given away free. Only 1 year old. We dropped off the bunk bed pieces, told the kids we'd be gone until 11:00 that night (date night, kind of), and drove to SLC to look at the mattress. It looked great, so we tied it on top of Alan's car. By this time, we were hungry, so we drove through Wendy's for salads. I dropped Alan off at a high school where he was filming a football game. Since it's not my idea of fun to sit on bleachers watching a game where I don't know anyone, I dropped him off, and went to Barnes and Noble. I found a book I'd been interested in, and sat in a comfy chair and read it while waiting for Alan to call. I made through half the book in the 2 hours, so that was good. We get to do the same thing this coming Friday, so maybe I'll finish the book!
Saturday morning we started the BIG MOVE. We started in Jacob's room, moving stuff out and vacuuming the floor. By the time it was completely empty, Jacob was re-thinking the whole move. However, he was a good sport and helped Alan put together the bunk beds. While the kids were helping daddy, I was frantically cleaning the twins room. I knew if Jacob could get his bed moved in, he'd feel better about things. We really wanted to paint before doing this, but I could sense a meltdown was coming. By the time the bunk bed, and girl's dresser was in the room, we were ready to move Jacob's bed into the nursery. Once it was in, he was thrilled!!! He spent the rest of the day, "decorating" his half of the room. I spent the rest of the day moving the closet contents, and dresser contents to the twins new room. I really overdid it, as my back began screaming at about 3:00. I stopped and had a nap for about an hour and felt much better.
At 5:00 we went to a party for the 50th anniversary of the parents of Alan's best friend. They have been second parents to Alan, and wonderful grandparents to our kids. It was really nice to see them still so much in love! The party was in their backyard. It was packed with friends who came to celebrate. They served ice cream sundaes, floats, popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches. Very nice for a hot night.
Once we got home, the kids were excited to try out their new rooms. All went smoothly, and no one was frightened or upset!
Now, I'm just catching up here and baking an apricot tart for dessert tonight. I've still got a few things to move to the twins new room, but I'll take care of that in a while. Starting tomorrow, I'll have an empty dresser for Peanut and can start going through the boxes of clothes my niece gave me. She has 2 boys that were both born at the same time Peanut will be born. All the clothes will be season appropriate!!!
That's what's up with me. Sorry I've missed so much, but I've been thinking about you, and praying you were all doing well.
