Come obsess about making my house look as good as yours!
We finished tieing down and putting up everything outside, so all that is left is the inside. I'm purposly taking my time with it, so that I have plenty to keep myself occupied.
We are under a hurricane warning, and evacutaion orders have been issued. But we will be staying put. We are in a very high location, so flooding is not a threat, it depends on the tides at the time of landfall how high the surge will be. Right now it's still beautiful outside, it's getting pretty breezy but I love a windy day.
They are shutting down my store at 1pm today and will keep it closed tomorrow to reopen Tuesday if possible. I'm not scheduled Tuesday but I will go in if I can to help out.
The traffic on the interstate has finally thinned out, but I'm sure it will be just as bad in the opposite direction after the storm.
I'll be grilling tonight, and fixing some of my frozen vegetables, gotta use up as much as we can.
Laundry is in process and should be finished this evening, everything needs to be clean in case we can't wash for a while.
I've found that crocheting is quite a stress reliever.
My 90+ year old Dad is in the ICU. I'm on my way to Jersey.![]()

Theresa, hope the headache goes away soon.
Lindsay, I hope you have a great trip!
I think some people here read Kingdom Keepers a couple of years ago. Did you know that Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn came out earlier this week? I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Miles' friend recommended Kingdom Keepers to him a few months ago and told him that the new one was coming out. Miles borrowed Kingdom Keepers from his friend right after we returned from WDW and finished in a couple of days. I bought the second one for him, and he is reading it now.
That sounds really nice. I guess no one did out of town boxes way back when we got married. I've only heard of them over the last few years![]()
I definitely need the power of the DDA, I'm going to ask for pryers for a miracle, that somehow this storm fizzles out or at least doesn't reach the strength they are predicting. Asking that it just doesn't hit here feels wrong, as then it will spread it's devastation somewhere else.
The westbound interstate is almost at a standstill, and has been for at least four hours now. I'm confused as to why people from Louisiana are headed west instead of North.![]()
And to make matters worse, Hannah is riding the coattail of Gustav.![]()
It looks like I'm alone here, I'll take this time to post a few pictures. I liked the look of the castle as the sun was setting, too bad the picture isn't clearer.

Hi, everyone,
We're at the Cape, preparing to board the Wonder in the a.m. - I guess we'll truly see what lengths DCL will go to to keep the ship and the passengers safe!
Oh no. What happened?![]()
Well, our beautiful day is gone, and the first feeder band has arrived, it looks pretty rough out there and the power has already flickered. I wasn't counting on it going out so soon but if I don't check back in that is why.
Right now things look a little better, the storm is now back to a Cat 3 coming ashore and it is moving quickly which is good, the sooner it gets over land the better. It has taken another turn this way so we should only get Tropical Storm winds.
Yay, Lucy!
I have never heard of a welcome box before. I think it's a neat idea.
I'll be thinking of you! Please post an update when you can.
My DD got a little scared when the lights flickered, she hasn't taken her final shower yet!![]()
