DDA Chapter 11

We just popped Nim's Island in the DVD player so I guess that I should watch.

I've decided that I must have an obsession in my life. Typically I am obsessed with planning our next Disney vacation, but since we have none on tap I lost my obsession. I don't even bother reading any other thread or forums these days. So my new obsession has been redeecorationg this house. Of course most of the big things are done now and Lord knows I've spent way too much money so I need to take a break from that too. So what would one suggest that I obsess about these days?:confused3

My 90+ year old Dad is in the ICU. I'm on my way to Jersey.

Oh, no! Lots of good thoughts coming your way! I hope your Dad is OK! :wizard:

Deb - The hurricane coverage is mesmerizing (in a bad way). DS is watching Fantasia so no hurricane coverage at the moment. I need to get showered and dressed so we can go sort out the drum pad/stand issues.
Don't know what to tell you about an obsession. I was just poking around at airfare. Not that the schedule for August is up yet, but for the end of July we are looking at $446 per person. :scared1: I imagine August will be the same. Crazy. I have to call next weekend to book our DVC ressies, then keep watching airfare while we wait for vacation bid to roll around again. But since DH bids on the other schedule now I am pretty confident we can get the August week.

Come obsess about making my house look as good as yours!

Deb, I am sure if we all put our heads together we can come up with a new obsession for you!

We finished tieing down and putting up everything outside, so all that is left is the inside. I'm purposly taking my time with it, so that I have plenty to keep myself occupied.

We are under a hurricane warning, and evacutaion orders have been issued. But we will be staying put. We are in a very high location, so flooding is not a threat, it depends on the tides at the time of landfall how high the surge will be. Right now it's still beautiful outside, it's getting pretty breezy but I love a windy day.

They are shutting down my store at 1pm today and will keep it closed tomorrow to reopen Tuesday if possible. I'm not scheduled Tuesday but I will go in if I can to help out.

The traffic on the interstate has finally thinned out, but I'm sure it will be just as bad in the opposite direction after the storm.

I'll be grilling tonight, and fixing some of my frozen vegetables, gotta use up as much as we can.

Laundry is in process and should be finished this evening, everything needs to be clean in case we can't wash for a while.

Work pretty much sucked again. Chris ended up delivering our kids to my parents house so he came in for a couple of beers. I had a drink with him after work and now we are headed for bed. Have a nice night and may you all stay safe in the wake of the upcoming storm

I'm sorry that work has been so bad lately. There were two letters to the editor about tipping in our paper today.

I definitely need the power of the DDA, I'm going to ask for pryers for a miracle, that somehow this storm fizzles out or at least doesn't reach the strength they are predicting. Asking that it just doesn't hit here feels wrong, as then it will spread it's devastation somewhere else.

The westbound interstate is almost at a standstill, and has been for at least four hours now. I'm confused as to why people from Louisiana are headed west instead of North. :confused3

And to make matters worse, Hannah is riding the coattail of Gustav. :sad2:

Pixiedust: to you! I am keeping you and everyone who may be affected in my prayers. I am still praying that Gustav somehow fizzles out.

It looks like I'm alone here, I'll take this time to post a few pictures. I liked the look of the castle as the sun was setting, too bad the picture isn't clearer.

Elin, do you have a link? I would like John to read this.
Thanks.

Interesting news (not new, but confirmed):

Disney and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts have finalized the sale of 298 acres of Walt Disney World property to Four Seasons, for the construction of a previously-announced ultra-deluxe Four Seasons resort featuring hotel, golf course, timeshare, and vacation home sales (yes, you'll finally be able to live at Walt Disney World -- if you can afford it). The resort is being built on the former site of the Eagle Pines golf course. The first phase of the project is due to open in 2012.

Debbie-you all are in my family's thoughts and prayers.

I am right now fighting a migraine....I cleaned our garage for awhile this morning....but didn't drink enough because as soon as it was over 80 degrees my head started pounding. I also found evidence that we've had at least one visitor in our garage!!:scared1:

I hope the visitor was of the four-legged variety. Hope getting water into you helps fight off that headache.
