Our day today...

Chris worked today until about 1 PM, then he changed the breaks on my car. He ended up getting home around 3 PM

I started on Colby's room at 9 AM I disassembled his toddler bed and started washing the walls. I also painted a bit of blue on his new dresser. At around 11:30 I brought my car to Chris and grabbed the truck. Then it was off to camp to disassemble a bunk bed and reassemble it as on twin bed. The other was loaded into the truck and brought home. Oh yeah, at some point this morning Colby's new mattress arrived and I unpacked that and set it on the floor in Hunter's room to allow it to expand (memory foam). We got back and got the bed into the house before the rain started. Lunch was had then bed assembly. As soon as it was assembled Colby needed bedding on it as he needed to "try it out". He layed in bed while I started back in on the walls. Chris came home and helped finish the walls. Then the bureau was brought in and I transferred his stuff from one to another. Chris had gone out and started clearing everything off the deck. I joined him and we power washed the house above the deck as well as a lot of scrubbing. From there Chris power washed the deck. I made dinner and clean out Colby's closet and shelves. We finished up around the same time and had dinner. Chris got to rest from there, but I had to run to the stores. I needed new window shades for Colby's room and Chris "needed" all the fixins for hot fudge sundaes. Finally home with shades replaced and Colby's room nearly back together I got to sit down for the first time all day :cool1:

I even got to see Phelps get his 8th gold medal :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Busy day, Deb and crew! I am glad you had a chance to relax a bit and watch the win!

No spoilers for the Westerners, Deb!

When do we get to see pictures of Colby's room?

Thanks! I'm always worried when she gets her picture taken. I never know what kind of a pose she might come up with!

I felt the same way with Cassidy. Abi is the other extreme, though they did get a smile out of her for her school id (I learned a long time ago not to pay for the school photos...and you could tell she was still sick)

I'm still waiting for a bunch of things to arrive. I've ordered curtains, more sheets and pillow shams. So far they haven't even shipped :headache: I'm hoping to have it all pulled together by next weekend though.

Can't wait to see how it all comes together!

I felt like such a dork tonight. Colby went in and climbed into his big boy bed just as happy as can be. I was sad that he wasn't my "baby" anymore :rotfl: Of course he's slept in normal beds many times in his brother's rooms or at my parents etc, but this was different. My goal was to have his room complete before he headed off to Kindergarten on Tuesday. I can't believe that he is nearly 6. Why are the kids getting older when I'm not :confused3

So you can enjoy them as adults! :woohoo:

Here's a stupid question. The new window shades stink that new plastic smell. I don't think I could sleep in there as the odor is strong. He doesn't seem to mind, but can it be harmful?

My dad said the same thing the other night...we went out with a couple that was in their wedding and their two kids who are around the same age as my brother and I...we called ahead to the restaurant and they asked if we had any kids in our party..he said our kids are going to be drinking with us!

They said they love it that we are the ages that we are!

I don't think it is harmful, Deb. It probably smells like little girls' jelly shoes. I cannot STAND that smell!

We're supposed to have an entire day without rain tomorrow :cool1: :cool1: Of course that means sealing the deck, but still...NO RAIN :worship: :worship: There may be a few more days next week with no rain. I'm not sure we'll know what to do with ourselves.

I forgot to mention.......Monday night when we got back to the BC Bob went to turn on the shower.......no water. No water from any faucets. I called the front desk and after 20 minutes and speaking to 4 different people, I found out that there was a water main break or something somewhere. Evidently it had been off for quite some time and was fairly widespread. They were giving people a percentage of their night's rate back, but since I was staying on points I got a $100 room credit. Then the water came back on 5 minutes later! :rotfl: That helped to pay for the tips that are no longer included in the DDP.

Not cool that there was no water, but :thumbsup2 for tips being covered!

Time for me to hit the hay. Good night everyone!
