Hi guys-
I need some prayers...As I was online earlier, myb rother called and asked for mom--i knew something was wrong so i got mom and we found out Joe had been in a motorcycle accident. He was driving to the firehouse and a car swerved in his lane and was headed right towards him. He had to choose to get hit by the car or go towards to grass and dump his bike. So he went for the grass and there was a big ditch. Joe was knocked unconcious for a bit and we headed to the hospital around 1130..he is still there, my dad and I just came home for ab it and we are headed back. As of now, they think his shoulder and jaw may be broken. Im pretty much freaking out and i know how strong DDA prayer is...thanks

Jen.....  :grouphug:

I am so not cut out to handle change well. This week has just been wonky. Last night Eric didn't get home until 7:30. He was done at 4 but the metro was delayed so he waited and waited. Lucy did not appreciate that at all!! She cried and cried and cried til he walked in the door. I was trying to fix dinner and screwed it up(I was adding a tad of spicy red pepper oil and ended up adding about 1/3 of the bottle, Eric and I were able to eat it but there was no way the girls were touching it) that I ended up ordering pizza. That did not get here until 8pm. Tonight I think I'm headed to anywhere but my kitchen for dinner.

On top of that Emma and Allyson are being drama queens and Mo refuses to sleep past 5:30am. I am beat. And I know Eric is too but I am still beyond annoyed that he comes home, talks to the girls for about 2 minutes, eats dinner and then heads downstairs til he is ready for bed. He's too tired from the commute. 2+ hours are on the train. What I wouldn't do for 2 hours to myself. More than 12 hours with the girls and the other kiddos for 8 hours is slowly pushing me over the edge. But on the bright side it's Thursday and the week is almost over.

I am off to shower before the troops arrive in 20 minutes.

Have a great day. :goodvibes
   Sometimes men just don't get it. :wizard: for a much better day today, and a yummy dinner!

Thank you so much guys. He just walkd in the door about 15 minutes ago. His scapula (i know i spelled that wrong) is broken for sure as well as his jaw. But both look like they were clean breaks. He will be calling the orthopedic surgeon as soon as they open.
Im sorry about my melt down post earlier, i was just going crazy. I needed to "talk" to someone while i waited. So i got a 15-20 min "nap" and just trying to help get him settled and then maybe illt ry to get some sleep.
Thanks again
Actually, I believe you did spell scapula right ;) and I'm glad that he is home. I know it's hard to look at the bright side, but it is better that he laid his bike down and got a few broken bones, because I'm sure the other option would have been a lot worse!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I hope he can stay comfortable until he gets into the ortho.

Well then, don't tell me if she does manage! I'd like to remain in blissful denial! :rotfl:

I won't tell you if it happens then. ;) I will tell you that this morning mine was 35! :cool1:

I'm glad you're feeling a little bit better.... get some rest today! :goodvibes

And by the way, you spelled scapula right ;)

woohoo for spelling it right.
Tammi-thats what I keep thinking--this is much better than what would have happened if he was hit by the car. I just hate seeing my brother like this. he is finally resting and has an appointment at 230 to see if he needs surgery.
I really appreciate you guys being here--ive been going nuts--but i did have a20 min nap..i think that may be it until bedtime tonight...i just have nervous energy..

So picture this, dad is making calls, mom went out to get medication, and im on "joe watch." he is sleeping and i am sitting at the table next to him on my computer in case he needs something--i told him i will never serve you again so you better enjoy it now!

I can think of only one reason... And this is only what I have read, cannot definitively confirm. 911 calls are linked to your home phone. They cannot triangulate a cell phone because of satellite use. It is why we have our land line still.

911 can triangulate your location as well. Remember the man that fell down the bank in front of our house and passed out? They were able to locate him through his cell phone :thumbsup2

Well, I am surprised to tell you all that we have a new arrival coming to our house. :rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: scared you, didn't I? Bob got bitten by the "new car" bug. Luckily he was willing to look at a used 2007 Nissan Versa that a friend at work was selling. It is in terrific shape with only 27,000 miles on it and the asking price was really great. We will get it on Friday.

Very nice :thumbsup2

Hello all! Well, I guess I'm hoping that I still have a job on Monday. Since I was supposed to be off this week due to the big 2 being out of town, imagine my surprise when BigSis walked into our church program today. Apparently MomBoss and her mom got into a major major fight and the girls didn't go with them to Ohio. The fight part isn't a big surprise, but my getting the week off regardless kind of is. BisSis told Kristi that since MomBoss had said I might be off she decided just to have me off. (She's also told me from the beginning that they would be on vacation in late July so I'd have a week off.) Plus, when I saw MomBoss at pick up her demeanor didn't seem to imply anything out of the ordinary, but with the weirdness of the last few weeks I guess I'm not sure what to think. MomBoss said she'd call tomorrow to catch me up on what happens so we'll see, I guess.

oh my...I wish I had been up to say I'd be praying for him. I'll add him specifically today!!

So, we leave TOMORROW!

Mom has chemo today, if anyone has some good thoughts to send her way.

I was actually sleeping really well until 4:15 AM. Then there was this loud stomping or pounding. DH came out of the bathroom, DS came out of his bedroom, and we all just kind of listened. Never heard anything else. :confused3 Whatever it was, it shook my bedroom. It was similar to the sound it makes when people stomp up and down the exterior stairs, but I think it was coming from inside another apartment. Like maybe The Knocker's. Crazy woman. I wasn't able to go back to sleep after that.

Our burglar alarm was still wonky from when they worked on it last week, so the guys came back and worked on it again yesterday. Looks like it is working OK now. The manager said our counters will be installed the Tuesday after we get home, so that's cool. I am off that day. I told her we are going to be gone so she can keep an eye out for anything odd.

Princess has camp this morning and a haircut this afternoon. Maybe we'll be busy enough that she won't have time to annoy DS. :rotfl2:

Other than the start to your morning it sounds like it will be a good day.
You know I'll be praying for your mom.

But it takes awhile. If it's a true emergency, do you really want to waste time while they ATTEMPT to triangulate it? It's not something that happens quickly.

How is it that they just don't understand that they get that decompression time but we don't???

I am still wondering...don't most police stations have local numbers? Like I said...I programmed our local number into our cells in case of emergency...and it works just fine

But it takes awhile. If it's a true emergency, do you really want to waste time while they ATTEMPT to triangulate it? It's not something that happens quickly.

Brian Piasecki (from Le Cellier) replaced Anette Grecchi at Jiko about a year ago. He had started at there about the time Bob and I had our spectacular dinner last October. His move is one of the reasons there was/is such an uproar on the Dining Board about the menu at Le Cellier.

Chef Tjetjep Sudiswa (TJ) has been at Boma for a few years, I think. He replaced Chef Jay Smith, I think?? Not sure about that one.

The only "chef" I know about anywhere is the ladies at my favorite mexican restaurant....they are friends!!:rotfl:

I so know who we are coming to when it's time to make the fancy schmancy dinner choice that Cassidy wants to do. :thumbsup2

John just walked in the door.

He's sick, and the fact that he came home means HE'S SICK.

Yes, but most stations don't dispatch. The 911 call center is a separate location. The dispatcher gets the call and sends the officer either by radio or computer (if said department has computers in their patrol cars). So if you call your local station, saying I have an emergency, they are either going to tell you to call 911 or transfer you to the call center. I know here in our area, if you call the station you immediately get a recording saying if you have an emergency to hang up and dial 911. They you have to listen to a bunch of "if you want this push 1, if you want that push 2" etc. etc.

You might want to check how your particular area operates.
