30 didn't bother me, 40 doesn't really bother me..it's just the idea that half my life is over (if I am lucky enought to make it 80! ) but I heard something cute the other day...you can either be a Tigger or an Eeyore when you look at life..I prefer to be a Tigger...so I refuse to grow up.

I got a Wii! But what an ordeal it was. I called our local Costco to see if they had any in stock. I really wanted to get it here since I have a $20 gift card for the place. The girl says "yes we have about half a palette left. So I leave work and drive an hour to Costco, racing against time. I get there and come to find out they have the Wii's but no Fits. I hate stupid people. I specifically asked if they had any Wii FITS, not Wii's, but I digress. So I leave and as I get in my car I decide to call the Gamestop that is in the same mall as Costco. They have one left. I asked if he will hold it for me, as I am in the mall and will be there in a few minutes. He did, and I got it. $50 more than I wanted to spend, but nonetheless, I'm done searching for it. I also pre-ordered 2 new games that were coming out that you can play on the Fit. A skateboarding and a cheerleading. I figure they will be good Christmas presents for the kids. He said once they come out they will be as hard to get as the Fits. So I came home and got my Mii all set up. According to her, I'm 3 years younger!

If you and Leighanna ever want to visit us during the summer months, we'll take you to our community pool! Swiper's Sweeper used to be called The Whip, I think. It's easy to see why! How did you spend your 5 days off? My grandparents vetoed the zoo, BTW.

I ended up doing almost absolutely NOTHING! I got a stupid sinus infection and ended up staying in most of the days. The heat and humidity seemed to aggravate the whole mess in my head!

Grandma and Grandpa want to take Leighanna to the Zoo. Probably next week.... if Grandpa doesn't get any more clients dying to see him. (He's a funeral director, and last week was particularly busy!)

So I am still back and forth with the surgeon...he actually called me and said he is working on it personally to get me in...So as of now i am going in on the 12th, which is killing me because that is RIGHT in the middle of Frankie's trip here. Dr McHottie is trying to get me in on the 6th so cross your fingers i can get in then!

SO....today is ridiculous...it started this morning. Cassidy woke up yelling at me because I was getting her up on time!! Then on the way to work I realized I haven't seen the mail in registration papers for Cassidy that are more than likely overdue!!

then it hit me that as food mom there are 2 meals that I have to feed the kids....next week!!

and I get to go get my teeth pulled tonight on top of that

add to that some fun work stuff

and I am so surprised I am not wrapped up in the fetal position.

DS and Princess are playing with Play Doh, but she has been getting on his last nerve all day. I think she is actually pretty funny, but that just makes DS more irritated.

hey guys--i was just on the community board and saw a post about Orbitz giving away a trip to Florida...
Apparently , you get someone to refer you and you get an email to board the plane--the first plane that gets 300 people on it wins a trip. Right now, the plane from this post is in 14th place out of 600 or something like that.
So if you want to enter the contest, just post on this thread
that you need a referral and someone will PM you. Then you will get an email to board the plane..once you do, you can refer two people..i joined so we'll see---just like to keep you guys on the plane if you want!

Elizabeth, funeral directors do have a pretty interesting job.

I have toured the one that FIL works at, and was surprised at what all that job does entail.

The only thing that FIL doesn't like is driving to another city to pick up a body at a morgue. He said that is the only thing that sort of creeps him out about the whole job.
I can't imagine driving a few hours with a corpse in the back.

When I did all of my AIDS volunteering one of the ladies (another volunteer) owned a funeral home. Neat lady, and she was so compassionate with clients who wanted her to help with their plans while they were still healthy enough to make plans. Seems like I asked the guy who handled MIL's funeral what his educational background was, and there is actually a degree of "funeral science" or something like that.
I watched a show on Discovery (or one of those channels) about people studying to become funeral directors and they have to know EVERY aspect of it, which really kind of grossed me out. Planning funerals, fine. Embalming corpses, not so much.
