DDA Chapter 10

Why does it seem that every time I have a vacation planned, everything goes haywire at work :confused3

One of our employee's is retiring, her last day is Sunday, another employee will be leaving to take another job, & last night an employee failed an alcohol sting(I am still dumbfounded on this one, there is no reason why she should have failed). So instead of being short one person, we are now going to be short 3 & I leave in 2 weeks. I always feel I leave at the worst times. I know none of this is under my control, but I still feel so bad for Mary. I swear she is on the verge of a breakdown. Also under the new city ordinance, beings we failed the sting Mary will be fined $500(managers are fined along with the owner & the employee that has to go to court)!

We have inventory today & I can tell it is not going to be a very cheery day.

Did she honestly not follow procedure, or she DID follow procedure and they are saying she did not? :confused3
There is a store somewhere near here that sold alcohol to a bunch of teenagers several months back. The kids crashed their car and 3 out of the 5 died. The parents are trying to get the store's liquor license revoked, but there are so many factors involved it isn't fair to blame the store. :sad2:
Hopefully you guys can find some new employees soon!

Well, i am off to Baltimore for the night! There is a firefighters convention and my brother is already there..my dad and i just decided to go as well..Have a great day and "see" you tomrorow

Have fun! :)

this is what I was wondering. Hope you all aren't shortstaffed for long!!

I am way behind again. Life is busy to say the least...

Did Theresa get the job she was interviewing for?

WOW what a wild few days! Got home late Thursaday from the Hollywood/DL trip(long drive :car: )
Friday I don't remember much.... I know we washed clothes, put somethings away, I picked up the dog at 0815 ( no sleeping in for me) then took her to get a bath. Mark had a haircut and I had a meeting later that evening.

Saturday we did a little more putting things away and then it was off to my 20 yr HS reunion. Took the girls to y moms for the evening and then off we went. It was alright, but nothing WOW. I must say many more people said hi to me then I thought would.

Yesterday we had to get up and get moving because we had a meeting with some folks from LA. (was scheduled for Sat but moved to yesterday) I love these guys! They are so down to earth and fun. They are not asking for anything upfront and only ask we pay for something if they have to pay for it, then if it sells they get a part of it.
They loved Ellie and want to write childrens books about her, then make her into a cartoon and sitcom. They have written a song for her and want her to make an album w/i the next few years. They are BIG into education and want her to do thing relating to it. :woohoo:
So I have sent them a few stories about her and need to gather more things silly, sad, etc so they have ideas to work with.
I can't tell you how proud I am to know someone wants to write books about my kid.... that is the biggest honor in my book.

I will be going back to LA in the next few weeks to meet with a few folks again. I love this one company KSAwest, they don't care that we live out of the area and love both girls. They are also down to earth and real folks, a bit more Hollywood types, but I felt a good feeling in my gut when I spoke with them (I did not get that feeling with other folks we talked with). So we shall see.

I will have pictures and video for you all to see, but not sure when it will get uploaded.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, this year was so much better than last. We had our meeting with the LA guys and then tried to make the family BBQ from the reunion, but we were to late so we had ice cream with an old friend of mine. Then it was home to let the girls play outside and Mark took me out to eat (the girls stayed with Cassie).

I do hope all is well with the DDA, please post me some cliff notes so I can catch up with how things are.

Off to clean a bit and get back in the swing of things.

Wow. The girls seem to be living in the fast lane. I'm glad that things are going well for your family.

If I could have some prayers/pd/good thoughts/or whatever you've got. I got a call today from the imaging center that did my mammo. I have to go back Wed. AM for a diagnostic mammo with and ultrasound, as they found an area that they are concerned about. I really don't have time for any issues. :sad2:

:wizard: I hope that things are fine. It is important that you have a really good baseline though as that will be following you for years

Ah, willpower! I feel the same way about the mint double stuffed oreos! I'm proud of you for resisting!

Oreo Cakesters. Yummy. I cannot buy them or I will eat the whole box.

Kevin doesn't change too many newborn diapers for that very reason! He also loves to tell people that Alyssa threw up in his mouth once. Really, it was just spit-up and it's his own fault for singing and flying her around over his head right after she ate. ;)

Matthew bonked himself on the nose this morning, but he kept right on playing. It was still a little red when he went to bed...I probably should have iced it a bit. :rolleyes1

I think I'm headed to bed, too. I'm lucky if any child is still in bed at 7:00 a.m. these days...

Good night DDA! :)

On our trip home Nick decided to spit a wad of gum out the window. I was sitting in the back seat. He spit and it flew back in the window and hit me in the eye along with lots of spit over the face and in the hair. Gross...totally gross. Of course everyone laughed hysterically, what are the odds of that happening?

Deb - I'm loving your photopass pics! The last one is a must! I love the dress that was picked for the Bibbiti Bobbiti Botique - was that one that was bought there or handmade?? The fabric is so cute!!!

Doesn't one of your plans require an AP for Dining? If you are staying DVC you won't need it, but if you are doing a family suite won't you have to have an AP?

We aren't doing family suites. Got in at OKW on cash.

I hope your day improves, Janet.

Have fun!

My mammo was fine! Thanks for all the support.

Thank God Tammi....:)

one less thing to have to think about now

OK. Help me remember that I put the receipts for my travelers checks in the front pocket of my carry-on. I am sure if I lose the checks I will be completely unglued and won't be able to remember where I put the receipts! :scared1: I figured the carry-on would be the best place for them, but there is no guarantee that I will recall that logic. ;)

Did you guys read about this Monsters Inc coaster, and other plans for "Pixar Place"? It sounds like it will be wonderful! I knew the DISers were onto something when Disneyland got their MI ride, and it wasn't this! :rotfl:

http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_h...et-ready-for-wdw-s-monstrous-new-coaster.aspx
Wow, I hope that does happen..my kids have always said the door scene when they are chasing Randall would be a good roller coaster ride!

Wow did anyone else get some major thunderstorms last night? Stupid things woke me up.
No, but we are getting some heavy duty ones right now.:scared1:

Have fun! I thought maybe I would start to see a difference in merchandise at the Disney Store since they changed over, but so far it is the same old stuff. I guess maybe Hoop had ordered a bunch of stuff ahead of time and they will have to sell through all of that before we see any changes? :confused3
Our stuff has the new logo but the styles havent changed much.
