DDA Chapter 10

I went and had my pedicure. My toes are more cranberry than I thought they might be - I was going for more of a pink. But they look nice. The salon has those "massage" chairs and I swear my back is bruised from it! When the girl started the massage function it was fine, but after about 10 minutes it felt like one of the little wheels was hitting my back funny. I wriggled around in the chair, but I couldn't really get it back to a comfortable angle. Now I have a spot on my back that is REALLY sore. Note to self: NO massage function next time! DH thinks I am exaggerating, but I will not be the least bit surprised if there is a visible bruise.

I grabbed a few groceries and that was it for my outing. No Super Target today, just the plain grocery store. The car thermometer went between 103-106, so it was definitely hot today!

Back to work tomorrow, but Princess has camp until noon.

DH said his supervisor CLAIMS there will be someone on the route with him on Tuesday to help him learn the procedures for that type of account. We'll see if that actually happens. Friday when he got to the warehouse there were no keys for the truck he was supposed to drive.:headache: It took 90 minutes to get someone to unlock the "key box" for him since the regular driver took the keys home. Calling the driver AND the driver's supervisor was pointless because both calls went to voice mail. I have little faith that there will be someone to help DH on Tuesday, but we shall see.

Mom called to say she and Diva are home from their weekend in Nebraska. Mom was able to find some pants for work at a store up there so she was excited. Kohl's doesn't have the ones she likes anymore, and she is hard to fit so I don't buy her clothes unless I know a specific brand and size. I really hope her infusion on Thursday is OK and she doesn't have horrible side effects from it. She has done so well I am worried that she may really be caught off guard if she feels sick.

Elizabeth I hope your back feels better.

Man I hate having to give Meds to the girls. I just had to hold Virginia down to give her the Antibiotics and hold her mouth closed after pushing the meds in her mouth.

Elizabeth sorry the massage chair made you feel worse instead of better

Riley has a nice bruise on his side from being hit with a ball yesterday. Everyone thought for sure a rib had cracked from the sound of the pop when the ball made contact. Luckily no broken ribs!

Poor Riley...I am glad it is just bruised

When I was in college I broke one of my foot bones. The bone that runs along the outside of your foot down toward your pinky toe. I had to be put under anesthesia so they could realign the bone. If that didn't work they were planning on doing surgery. Luckily it did. I had to hobble around campus for 6 weeks, but I was able to be in a walking cast.

That is the one I hurt. It is still aligned and only has a small fracture. But given my trip I was not messing around. Hopefully I get into the Ortho doc tomorrow.

Elizabeth - don't they give you the controls to the chair so you can control intensity and settings? I hope you aren't in too much pain.

There was a button for "back" and a button for "intensity" but there were no "up" or "down" arrows so I was afraid of amking it MORE intense! :scared1: The girl working on my toes was very sweet but her English was shaky, so I figured I could deal with it until the timer ran out.

Elizabeth-sounds like a pretty good day other than the massage chair from heck!!

I didn't even realize how sore it was until I sat down and leaned back on the couch!

she did....and her clothes STINK. New York is not a perfumed town obviously.

Hmm. Pleasant! ;) I am glad she had a good time! :thumbsup2

OUCH! Riley definitely wins! He will be sore longer than I will! Poor little dude!

Jennifer - Did you try blowing in her face to make her swallow, or is she too old for that to work? I always put the syringe as far back in the corner of their mouths as I can get it, and squeeze the medicine in a little at a time. That way if they spit it on me it isn't the entire dose. :scared: I hope she feels better soon! How many days does she have to take the meds?

I checked out 3 books from the library last week. One on Tuesday, 2 on Friday. I couldn't start the Tuesday one until I read the one that came before it (didn't realize I had missed one in the series). I just finished "Obsession" by Jonathan Kellerman, and now I can start "Compulsion". Ironic, since I am kind of obsessive about not reading books out of order! :rotfl2:
I have the new John Sandford to read next, and I am waiting on the new Jeffery Deaver. I have it on request, it just hasn't come in yet. Of course they are new releases, so they can not be renewed. Whatever I haven't finished before we leave will have a couple days of late fees. Oh, well. :rolleyes1 Reading will help me pass the time, so I may finish all of them before we leave!

Jonathan is my FAVORITE author. I also like his wife, Faye. In fact her new book comes out next month and I will grab it with a gc I got for my birthday.

I have to say I was surprised and a little disappointed in the winner of the "Next Food Network Star." I felt like the winner did very well tonight, but the outcome was not as I had expected nor hoped for.

yes I tried that. I did put the syringe in her mouth as far as I could. she still fought me. 10 days twice a day

Keep an eye on him. It could be badly bruised where a cough or a sneeze could finish it off. That happened to my dad and it was extremely painful for him. I hope Riley is okay.

Janet,
:wizard: for Riley. Hope he is feeling better today.

Jennifer & Jennifer,
Hope all your girls are feeling better.

Becky,
Sorry you hurt your foot.

Elizabeth,
4 days!:cool1:

Well, I lied. I'm able to be back the same day! :goodvibes

Deb - I know I missed you, but happy anniversary to you and Chris! Vicki posted the link to your pics, and I look forward to looking through them.

Robyn - what an amazing cake!

Jen - fingers crossed for the job(s)!

Glynis - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! What wonderful news for your family. Have a great visit with your mom.

Jennifer - how are your princesses doing?

Elin - great pictures!

Marci - as I will be recovering from a late and very long day tomorrow, I definitely don't plan to be outside on Sunday. This weather is so miserable. We need rain so desperately - you think that little hurricane could have helped us out a bit. :sad2: Good luck with the games tomorrow, and drink lots of water! What are your dates at the Poly in Jan.?

Bernadette - I totally forgot about the PhotoPass CD! Let me know what I owe you!

Chanon - nice bag!

Elizabeth - good luck packing! I hope next week's schedule for DH isn't as bad as he's fearing. It's never fun staring one of those weeks in the face.

Our Poly dates are Jan 1 - 4. I hope your events went well. Another scorcher today -- you and Elizabeth take care!

Happy Anniversary to you and your DH, Debbie! As an anniversary gift to him make sure to get a really frilly new bra... ;)

Bob and I celebrate our 35th on Monday. hard to believe...

Happy Anniversary to Debbie and her DH.

Happy belated Anniversary to Amy and Kevin. Amy -- I'm amazed at how much you are doing with a newborn and two other young kids. Please take care and don't overdo it.

my luck keeps running...to bad it's bad.

I have 3 choices:

a.) keep the tooth with a root canal, pull 3 other (that really need to come out) and do bridges
b.)do nothing
c) pull the tooth and the 3 others and partially denture my mouth.

a & c will cost me, even with insurance, $1200 to $5000. I've got until Wednesday to decide.

Oh and I've got a raging infection in my mouth that I had no clue I had!! So on antibiotics I go!!

I'm so sorry -- good luck with your decision. I hope the infection goes away pronto!

I am going to Disney World THIS WEEK!!
:dance3:

Yahoo! I'm so excited for you!

Thank you all for the good wishes for Virginia. We went to the Dr on Fri. her temp was 102.7 when we got up. They did a cath on her she has a UTI. at least that is what the urine culture shows. we picked up her Antibotics last night.

Poor thing. I hope she is feeling better and will start taking the medicine easier. Did you guys end up staying home since she was sick?

So I got home from the wedding after midnight. It was very nice, it was Mexican themed and they had a Mariachi band which was a surprise for the bridal party.

Today I went to Urgent Care as last night I overturned my right ankle in a hole. After sitting, waiting, exams, and x-rays I have a fracture in my 5th metatarsal. I currently have a temporary splint on my right foot and crutches. I need to make an appointment to go to an orthopedic specialist.

This is going to be for awhile.

I have two and a half weeks until I leave. Let's just say my trip might be interesting. I am going come heck or high water. Now I have so many things to figure out that I have not dealt with before. Now we have to fill out the medical form and figure out Disneyland stuff. I will probably end up in a wheelchair for at least part of the trip. Not how I wanted to spend my trip.

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

I'm so sorry. I hope you can get in to a specialist quickly.

She's doing ok.... not any better, but not worse. Avery is now following suit

I hope both girls feel better soon!

Yesterday was a very exhausting day, finally made it to bed around 11pm & was back up at 6am today

Riley & his team lost 2 games yesterday & won one. Their 1st game this morning was at 8am & we were all still half asleep I think lol but the game got very interesting & got our adrenaline going. They won this game in a tie breaker, the next game they lost so we are done till next weekend.

We decided to spend another night here, so we will head home tomorrow. I just woke up from a nice nap & now need to get cleaned up so we can go get something for dinner.

Yesterday during downtime between games we went shopping at Kohls. I lucked out & they were having early bird specials of up to 60% off :cool1: I guess my new dishwasher can wait a little longer :rotfl:

I'm sure I will pop in later!

Hooray for good games. I hope Riley is okay -- that is scary when a kid gets hit and you can hear the pop. They had a pitcher get hit by a line drive that dropped him to the ground at the field next to ours last week. It hit him in the face by the ear and luckily only required stitches. We were afraid he would have a concussion. Of course, Andrew was pitching on our field at the time and was a little freaked out by it. Congrats on the good shopping deals.

I went and had my pedicure. My toes are more cranberry than I thought they might be - I was going for more of a pink. But they look nice. I hope your DH gets help tomorrow. Do you have the bruise? That doesn't sound like a good pedicure. Sending lots of prayers for the next infusion for your Mom.

We ended up getting 4th in our division in baseball. There were four divisions since there were 60 teams playing. All but one of our games were decided by a run or two -- very good baseball! We took our boys and the two closest-in-age nephews to Great Wolf Lodge Saturday night. They had a ball and behaved very well.

We went from there yesterday to meet my family for a birthday dinner for my brother (April 5th -- that's far how we are behind in celebrating family birthday's) and my sister had to leave from dinner to go to the emergency room. She's fine -- a new arthritis medicine is tearing up her stomach -- but I took her two home from the dinner. Needless to say, I didn't get much cleaned/put away from our week of baseball and hotel stays. Will (the almost one-year-old ended up getting mad at me. I was trying to get him to sleep, and Hallie kept coming in and waking him up. I finally convinced her to stay out until he went to sleep, but then he was wide awake. He kept throwing his pacy, and when I told him no, he burst in to tears because I hurt his feelings. I felt a tidge guilty, but he quickly went to sleep after that. It's been too long since I've had a one-year-old and three-year-old to take care of. One good thing -- I missed dinner as I was feeing both of them, and I'd been eating so bad because of the week of baseball that it was a good thing. I was still up two pounds on the scale this morning...

Have a great day everyone!
