DD missing out on out of the "world" chance

My DD interns with our local FOX news station. Seems that some of the FOX reporters that she "follows" are going to IOA tomorrow to do their report on HP. My DD has an annual pass, but they don't think they can take her They were saying something about the liability taking her that far in one of the stations vehicles. They will be arriving there at 7:30am tomorrow to tour the new area. She is still "begging" them to take her with them She has even offered to drive up behind them... I don't think she is going since I haven't heard from her yet...she called about 2 hours ago to tell me about it.
I guess she will have to wait till the end of July to go.. and wait on all the lines....

Anyway, as an intern they would probably not let her on any rides and ask her to watch their stuff while they're in the ride... get them a drink etc.

She's probably better off not going as she would want to do the fun stuff.

It is work... for them. They are doing a story on the WWOHP... and they are going tomorrow to "experience" it so they can report back.... she was all happy when she found out. But since she is technically not an employee but an FGCU student doing her internship there, there are some legality issues of her going... She does get to ride in the news truck and go on the breaking news stories, but they are local and US is about 3 hours from here. I think it would have been so exciting for her to go with them there.. not to mention, doing the rides.. Oh well, all we can do is cross our fingers they hire her next year.. maybe there will be another exciting story she could go out on... maybe WDW's Fantasy Land (Princess) expansion...

and thanks for the good luck thought for my DD.. I would be thrilled to say the least if she were to get hired on..then I don't have to pay for her to get her Masters LOL...

I spoke to her a little bit ago. They said if she got her own transportation up there, she could join them. She is a little wary of driving alone to meet them there for 7:30. She would have to leave here by 4-4:30am.. I offered to go with her, but she declined. She figures we would never make it home after a long day there & she has class on Thursday morning.. she cannot miss. If she was going with them, it would be different. She wouldn't have to worry about the drive home after a day in the parks. They have a driver..
She is passing on it.. me, I would have jumped on it.. not for the experience of being with the news crew, but for the special FOTL they will be getting

Me, I went to a U2 concert 3 hours away from where I lived, the night before a hugely important midterm (though I wasn't driving) in grad school. I aced it (studied the entire way there and I'd been studying for 2 weeks already), but it could have gone the other way....

thank you.. she really does take her studies seriously. She works as a server while attending the local university and knows she needs that education. Now comes the bragging mom in me.. she has been on the deans list every semester since her 1st year in college.....works (and has since she started college) nearly 35 hours a week & has done 2 internships already. Her first was in a law firm, and now this one with FOX. she does have a good head on her shoulders..
