DD just informed me that I have to chaperone her Christmas party and bring in several things, but she can't remember what.

"Where is the note from the teacher?" I ask her.

She hands me a note that has nothing to do with the party.

"When is the party?" I say.

"Tomorrow," she replies sweetly.

"What time?"

"I don't know," she smiles.

:badpc:

:lmao:

Doncha just love kids?

I particularly like when my son will go into his room, for a pillow - lets say.

And I go to use the bathroom, and walk past his room and he's standing in the middle of his room looking around.

"What are you doing?" Ill ask
"I dont remember"

:confused3

"you came in here for a pillow" I remind him
"oh yeah!" with a laugh

Ummm...okay. :joker:

Guess it is time to get on the phone with other mom's and hope they are also bringing something to the party. :confused3

I see your DD is 11, my niece is the same way. Her mom always says her DD forgets things and is spacey, ditzy. Hmmm...must start at 11 or sometime around there and progressively gets worse. She said 12 isn't any better.

Hang in there!

that was my morning as well LOL
I go to drop off the stuff for DDs party and see a child bringing in a gift for the exchange "excuse me? Was there a gift exchange today?" "yes didnt you get the note?" nope.

So then I stop by other DDs room to make sure Im not missing any other pertinent information " Yes, she needs her PJs today its Polar Express day"
So off to Wlamrt I go and pick up a gift run home wrap it grab the jammies and back to school. ARRRGGGHHH I'm glad its Christmas break now. Maybe I can get soem rest!

OK...NOW I don't feel so bad. DS-9 as I'm telling them to get their coats on to leave "What about the Secret Santa?"

Me :confused3 what are you *talking* about???????

Apparently he was supposed to draw a picture or something for a Secret Santa to bring in today. Umm...OK, why didn't you do that last night when you were doing your homework??????

Poor person, got a quickly drawn 2 people talking and lots of stickers on the paper.

I *REALLY* hope DS knew what he was talking about as in I hope I wasn't supposed to bring in a $5 gift or something. He didn't bring anything home today in gift form so I think I'm OK. He knew who had him because he told him. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

I'm glad it's not just me. It did get a little more informative.

"You need to buy some pop. I'd like Pepsi, Orange, and Sprite. Oh, and some cups."

"No problem," I say. "Do you need ANYthing else?"

About a half hour later, she says, "Maybe you should get me some juice to go along with the pop." Then a little later, "Well, we're not really allowed to have pop, so how about just juice?"

:lmao: I'm glad she remembered the "no pop" rule before I went to the store at least!

This is ds - In 2nd grade he came home from school and said, oh yeah - we have our Christmas concert tonight and I'm supposed to wear something nice. OK, In a panic I finally find something that I guess could pass for nice (but was mostly just clean) and as we're heading out the door he says and we're supposed to bring something to eat, you know - like brownies or cookies. Well, I don't have it so I'm resigned to being the horrible mother. After the concert, while all the kids are eating the snacks I apologize to the teacher and explain that I didn't know about the brownie/cookie thing until we were walking out the door. Teacher says, didn't you get the note in the report card last week? I'm like - what report card???? Yeesh!!!!

Too funny!!! :rotfl2:

I suppose my day is coming with my DS...
The thing is, he is liable to get home with the note, and then I am the one who forgets something!!!

Seems like there is ALWAYS something... from initialing DS folder, homework, projects, sending supplies, field trips, parties, etc. etc. Man, it is almost a full time job to be the parent of an elementary schooler!

 It's not my fault I was born with a blonde brain. Now, is it? I say stuff like that all the time. It drives my parents and friends nuts.

I know, it is! Back when DS was in elementary school, I was there several days a week. I'm putting that on my resume as school experience. :rotfl2: DD has me kind of spoiled, though. Most of her teachers have preferred not to have parent volunteers in the classroom too often, so I've only gone to a handful of parties. One year it kind of ticked me off because there were a couple of moms who hogged all the volunteering, but other than that I haven't been too busy with her.

Tonight at the mall I sent our 12 yr old son to get his Dad and sister chocolate shakes. Even told him twice what to get. What does he bring back? Two frozen cokes! So I ask him just what were you thinking? Well he says....they're both brown! Puuleeze! Sheesh!
So I made him drink one and luckily our niece was in the food court at the same time, so I gave her the other one.
You know he was blond for a couple of years too...... :rotfl2:
