Ok My DD who turns four during this trip has come down with a bad cold...cough, runny nose, no fever, no sore throat. I have packed her a bunch of cold meds so I think we will be fine, but if she gets worse rather then better can WDW get us a Dr. or recommed one or should I see if my DD's Dr. can recomend one down there (DD's Dr. is a big WDW fan also). Just wondering what other people's experance with this is.

TIA
Tandy

Can you get DD to the DR today to have him rule out the chance of any secondary infections signs? (ears red etc). If your DD tends to get ear infections following colds, see if he will go ahead and write you a perscription for an antibiotic just in case you need it. There is another active thread on Dr's in the Orlando area, but we have been blesed not to know much about them. Check out that thead too and GOOD LUCK.

Are you flying? If so ask Dr for something to dry her up and prevent fluid from getting in her ears during landing. Some Drs recommend Beneadryl, Sudafed etc. Last year we drove in Winter with the kids on Antibotics for strep (no longer contagious when we went.). I was the one who wound up having to call Doctors on Call from the resort.

Good luck, hopefully you'll still have a great trip.

We did...much happier children!!

Turner's Drugs will deliver to WDW Resorts...$5 delivery charge, and they will also bring non-med stuff...like a humidifier!!;) (Don't ask!!:D )

They have the number at the Front Desk at every resort.

Enjoy!!:sunny:

Well we aren't flying, we are taking the train and I have bought some of every type of cold meds for her just in case we need them while we are on the train.

I don't know the last time she has had an ear infection so I am not worried about that...she does sometimes gets croup so I am more worried about that and I called her Dr. today and she told me what to do if she gets croup so I think we are ok.

Thanks.

Don't know if you've left already...but don't forget the multi-vitamin and extra vit. C.
Good luck and let us know how your vacation was.

If your dd is contagious, you should consider postponing your trip. It is not right to expose other people.

You are probably already on your trip, but... one year my son started a terrible cough out of nowhere on the way to WDW. He had problems with Strep Throat coming on very quickly that school year, and we were concerned that might be the problem. When we arrived at WL, they helped us contact a doctor who came to our room and checked him out. While we waited for the doctor, we called room service and ate lunch. He was there before we knew it, gave us a prescription, which was delivered to the hotel. It was great!
That's service, and a happy family.
