Can a DVC reservation be made with one person using points and the other person paying cash?

Yes however the entire cash portion must be paid at the time of booking.

Be warned that about 6 months ago there were issues with members being blocked out of cruising on points due to lack of availability. There were still cabins available on the ships, but the overall DVC volume had apparently exceeded the limits agreed upon between DVC and DCL.

In other words, don't wait too long to book or you could be locked out--even if the Disney Cruise website is showing ample availability.

Problem solved by booking with her points and I am paying her what the cash cost would be for my portion of the room. This is for a year from now and the least expensive cabins with balconies are booked up already.
