DCL website has been updated (9/16 update more info)

I've discovered another quirk. Today is my platinum booking day for a cruise. I logged in just after midnight to book activities. I could see everything I wanted, but the system would not allow me to book. Tried logging out and back in, different browser, phone instead of computer - no luck. Tried again this morning - same result. Then I decided to complete my online check-in. Lo and behold, after I did that I could book all my activities! Fortunately I got everything I wanted, but this new requirement is going to add a level of frustration. Previously, if I wanted to try to book a cabana, I have occasionally been able to grab one right at midnight on my booking day. Now it's going to involve the added complication of who can complete their check-in the fastest. I guess it's fair if everyone has to do it, but I still don't like it. At midnight, all I want to do is grab my activities and go to bed. Now we have all the online check-in screens to go through first.
I booked last night as well and was able to do OLCI around 9:45. It may have been available earlier than that but I didn't check. I wasn't expecting to check in, just making sure my ducks were in a row and it let me. So it seems they have changed it (or it was as glitch) to allow OLCI a bit earlier. I still had to wait til midnight for activities to be bookable.

ETA: It was 9:45PM CENTRAL when I did it.

Good to know. Hope that holds true in the future. Thanks for the info.

This would be a good compromise.

Wow. That's truly horrible for anyone that has multiple reservations with cabins linked. With linked cabins, the system has never allowed concurrent log-in for check-in among the linked reservations. If this is a new policy/process that will remain, people with multiple reservations linked will have to login-in, check-in, and log out one by one (whenever the check-in window opens) before any activities that include people across cabins can be booked. Assuming the activity & check-in window continues to open at the same time, this would hinder reserving activities fast for those that are difficult to get, especially for larger groups.

Previously, the system allowed you to book activities for the group before each cabin needed to check-in (in serial fashion).

I hope this changes or the better plan would be to unlink reservations until after check-in & activities are booked. It would mean booking activities separately and then trying to sync times or combine back into larger groups later. What an unnecessary pain.

Online check in really doesn’t seem (to me) to be something that needs to occur on the same day as booking activities. I think it could easily be done any time really, could even really be before PIF as it doesn’t affect anyone else the way that booking activities does. I booked a cruise on another line for 2020 and could already check in now if I wanted.

The new system wants me to book each half hour of nursery time individually!! That is insane! Surely I am overlooking something...

It made me do that last month before the upgrade too! It took forever to get a 3 hour block and it made me go through selecting the persons name each time. There’s only one baby and I’m booking the time in a row stop asking who this is for!!!

It is truly ridiculous.

You might need to use a different browser. The cookies DCL uses, sometimes mess things up. You can try removing cookies or go through an incognito or private window in your browser.

Thx for the tip! I erased history/cookies and it worked!

I like the new look but I'm not sure why one of my cruises show a PIF date for Gold instead of Platinum. The other cruise is correct, though.

Has anyone notice this on their reservations?

Yep, we had to do the same thing about a month ago. It was terrible! I like the look of the new site, jsut wish more of it worked.....

Wish you could just cancel one person from an activity or port adventure. 4 of us are signed up for a wine tasting, I wish to remove just myself and I cannot do it. I have to cancel everyone and then rebook the other 3, whereby risky not getting it back. I did not see that you could do this on the dcl website?
