DCL transfer to port question

Hi everyone. We are staying at poly the night before our cruise. We have booked the DCL transfers. We are cruising concierge so would like to arrive earlier to port to get on ship. Is it best to Uber or taxi from Poly to MCO and catch DCL bus there or would it be better to just wait for the DCL bus pickup at resort? I have heard reports that pick up at resort may be late arrival to port.

If you definitely want to arrive at the port early your best option would be to travel back to MCO and catch a DCL transfer bus there. I believe the first one departs shortly after 9am. It will take you a couple of hours to get from your resort to the ship but you can better secure an earlier time as resort pickup can be anywhere between 10:45 and 1:00pm is my understanding. If you chose this option you would be responsible to take your luggage back to the airport and check it with DCL there prior to boarding your transfer. If you take DCL transfers from your resort they will pick up your luggage shortly after 8am at your resort and transport it to the port for you.

Since you are concierge, there is no reason to rush to port. You will still board as soon as you check in at the port.

I suggest private car service from the Poly to the port, skip the return to MCO and DCL transfers. Depending on the size of your party, it maybe similar cost, and involve much less travel time or hassle.

Enjoy your cruise!

Being concierge, and being able to get on first, is exactly the reason why we hated the resort transfers. Hours missed on the ship.

And I think it's why the op wants to get there early, too.

Second time we did DCL transfers we left the evening before and stayed at the Hyatt Refency MCO so we were right there and didn't have to take DME that morning.

I second that suggestion. Tiffany will get you there for 140 $. I'm pretty sure other private car services offer similar rates.

There are times that so many people are in the concierge lounge, that it is temporarily closed. Once a few leave, it reopens for more guests.

Staying at the MCO Hyatt can't be beat!

What time would you suggest having the car pick us up at poly?

Port opens about 10:00 am so I'd say 9:30 would be a good time which will get you to the port by 10:30 ish. Boarding usually starts around 11:15-11:30.
