DCL Summer 2017 Megathread - Itineraries are out!

Monday, April 4, 2016 all of the 12 night specialty cruises in Europe will have passed their 120 PIF date. The last one being August 1, 2016, Barcelona 12 night cruise.

I expect them to open next week, but have no insider information, just assuming that is what they are waiting for.
As the d c l blog site has said, they Magic has shown up on multiple 2017 port calendars in Europe, and the Wonder has been seen on West Coast port calendars. I don't think there will be too many surprises. They just don't want everyone on the harder to fill longer cruises moving them all to 2017.

That said, i'm anxiously waiting myself to book a 7 night Mediterranean cruise for next August.

But why would people who are booked for 2016 want to reschedule it for 2017 when prices will be higher? If they simply can't make it in 2016 they will cancel or move to a diff placeholder now and a 2017 med once they are released. I don't know why they'd specifically wait for 2017 to be released to do that.

I haven't seen her around in ages. I think she used to be a moderator and just kept doing those threads while the cruise boards had no moderators.

I remember her saying they were getting priced out on previous release dates too. Maybe she finally said enough is enough.

I actually saw a post from her a couple months ago, I was surprised because I hadn't seen her post in a while as well.

Also a very good point!
It would be nice to at least have an idea about dates and itineraries. :sail:

They don't even have to open up the booking window! Just make an announcement on the itineraries and dates, so that we can start planning. Also we can then place our requests for time off from work.

So the poster going around all the 2017 threads saying it is released in March, was wrong?
Probably just saying that in the past, it has been released by end of March. Obviously this is Disney and they do whatever the heck they want, but past performance is usually a good indicator.

I spoke to a CM yesterday who first said he had no idea, followed by saying that it's usually end of March/early April, and then finished saying that they were waiting for contracts to get settled and that he expected them by the end of April at the latest. I think he covered all the bases there. Grrrrr

...and then the CM said it will definitely be released before the summer 2017 sailing dates occur :dance3: lol

But not all of ROyal Caribbeans dates have been released either. There is nothing showing past spring '17 for the Quantum class- my biggest interest for possibly China.
But their Med rates are not low. So I'm super curious to see Disney's.

I am just hoping that the 2017 Transatlantic cruise dates will be available when we cruise this October, because I want to book onboard!
This is where my cruise time is a disadvantage.. Let's say dates get released next month for Mediterranean, and I decide to book that day.. By the time thanksgiving comes around I doubt that the onboard discount would save me any money with rebooking..and I was looking forward to that.lol

Me too. I've been waiting to compare both.

I gave up on waiting for Disney and put a deposit down on a 7 day Western Med out of Rome on the Jewel (which is getting renovated this year). If Disney's prices are comparable or an itinerary is substantially better, I will come back to DCL, but given that I paid $2500 on opening day for a veranda room, I'm thinking we will be on RCCL. I will be a little sad that we aren't on the Magic, but considering how port intensive the cruise is, I expect I will just be happy to be spending some of the money I saved on awesome excursions. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check out the prices. I think you can look at this years itinerary on DCL add 10- 20% and you'll know what next years prices will be.

We are hoping to do (and be able to afford) the Disney cruises to Norway/Baltic. Anyone done them?
