DCL plates in the gift shop

We bought 4 of those blue dinner plates from the Disney Wonder last cruise - they are fantastic, but beware...they are not microwave-friendly. Learned that the hard way While microwaving some cauliflower, started to smell something horrible (and no, it was not the cauliflower as my husband would suggest)...it was the blue plate peeling away into little blue scales and flaking off.
Took awhile to clean, and man was that plate hot. Stupid me for assuming the plate was microwave-safe. Lesson learned and now we are down to three cool DCL dinner plates

Thanks for the heads-up. In this day and age, it does feel strange that they make things that are not microwave safe or dishwasher safe.

But they do have a label on them that says they're food safe right (not just for decoration)? I have an awesome coffee mug that I love that has gold foiling on it that is not microwave safe, it creates quite the lightning show in the microwave if I forget that.

They are food safe and dishwasher safe, I was just foolish for not reading the back of the plate which indicates no microwave.

Dishwasher safe. They are good plates overall
