So I'm a week away from my first cruise, going on the wonder Feb 12th. Got a few questions regarding photos.

I see I can order a digital only photo package ahead of time, much like MemoryMaker. But it's much more expensive then preordering MemoryMaker.

I know this is very subjective, but is the $211 digital only package "worth it"? There have been times I felt memory maker really should have been called MoneyMaker inside Disney's executive offices, as I some trips didn't produce a ton of photos.

If I opt not to go with the package, are the photographers allowed to use your cell phone/camera to take photos?

There are always cast members available during the meet and greets and they are happy to use your personal camera. :thumbsup2

Don't quote me on this, but I believe you have the option to get a refund if you decide you do not like the photos.

You can cancel any photo package if you decide you don't want it for a full credit back, as long as you do it by the night of the last full day onboard. You can't cancel it on debarkation morning.

For meet & greets, the entertainment cast member will usually take your picture. For other situations, such as the backdrop photos, there is no one to take your picture. The Shutters photographers are prohibited by their company policy from taking photos with guests' cameras.

This isn't always true. We've had our photo taken by DCL CMs at some of the backdrop locations. Yes, not often are they there, but they could be. And it's always an option to ask someone behind you in line to do so.

I've never, ever seen a DCL CM anywhere near the backdrop shoots but obviously it happens.

If you do pre buy the package it kind of forces you to search out the photo opportunities. That always helps us see the financial sense in the package. On cruises we haven't pre purchased we are always borderline when we see the pics and end up buying it anyway.

As a side note - the printers were down on our January cruise on The Wonder (off on 10 Jan) and we still don't have your prints we prepaid for. Disney and the photo company passing the buck back and forth and now blaming customs. Kind of frustrating.
