I've been chosen to host one of the house parties!:cool1: :thumbsup2

I'd love to hear from other hosts what you're planning to do at your party so I can get my creative juices flowing.

This could also be a place to ask questions, share your experiences if you've hosted other house parties, etc.

Let's help each other make it a party to remember!

Thanks everyone!

One thing I'll be doing is making a DVD of pics from my past cruises set to music and show it at the party.

I'm glad I found this thread....I got picked as well. I'm planning on putting together a DVD with photos and songs from the trip. And I plan on making some of our favorite foods/drinks from the cruise as well. I not to sure what else so, I'm hoping to get some great ideas from all of you.

I haven't even read through this post yet....I am so excited that our family was selected that I had to Share

Now I will go back and read what everybody else is saying here....

WHEW HOO!:cool1:

Congrats everyone:thumbsup2

We may make it just a ladies night out on the ship away from kids and Dh;'s not sure yet but one thing all my friends like is not just the family time but the thought of leaving the kids in the clubs and having free time entices them, soooooo this is my thought so far...

1. first start off with a sail away party with a Martini tasting, just as I do at the sail away party.

2. After all my guests arrive I will play the Horn sound on my stereo as we set sail.

3. WE will play Disney Pictunary as one of the games. And give away prizes.

4. Foods from the cruise and great desserts.

5. We will have a contest on who can make the best towel animals and winner gets prize.

6. also play CD of the cruise on TV. and talk about all the great family time and free time and pampering that you will get on board.

Theses are a few ideas. All my friends have heard me talk about all our DC but it is hard for them to justify spending so much money on one vacation. Will have to show them why it is important.

Great ideas, "Got Disney." I want to see if I can create the magic of Animator's Palatte. Maybe starting off in black and white then end in color! Gotta think that one through.

I wasn't asked. But then again I didn't apply. I don't have the ability to host a party.

BUT

If anyone in Northern CA needs a guest, I'm available.

Okay so it has been decided. My Dh and I decided that it will combine my 50th birthday (Jan 8) and the party together and have it be an all girls night. Checked with a few friends and they agree... so here is what I have so far for my Blog...

Thsi is the name of my Party/Tilte....Come Cruise with me at my house for my 50th Birthday!

Here are some of the things we want to do for the party:

Do a door magnent with our house # on it... like the cabin room.
Do a slide show on the laptop with music
Have a towelogami contest
And I might dress in my priate costume
On the food list
do 2 or 3 dishess from the ship.

and personal give-aways...
homemade Mickey Heads, like I did for our Sept. cruises.

And if anyone is in the west coast of AZ.... let me know!!!
"Wanna come to a DCL party?"

We made a cruise photo book and dvd so we will show that at the party. My favors will depend on the number of people I have coming but I am going to Disney two weeks before so I might try to find some goodies there!

I also plan on putting out out navigators and other stuff we saved...

My MIL has a conch shell punch bowl that I will use for my conch coolers!! Since it will cold here I thik I will go with a Castaway Cay Winter Beach party theme....

with Christmas and my trip I really think this might be bonkers for me to be thinking about doing this!!!

Well, I've worked on my party ALL night long! I should have been paying bills and doing laundry, but I do have my priorities!:lmao: I uploaded lots of pictures from our past cruises and added them to my party site. Now that I have my invites out and have uploaded pictures for guests and others to see, I have to start planning this thing! I'm getting stressed out just thinking about it but am loving all of the great ideas on this thread! Keep them coming!:thumbsup2

By the way, my DH said, "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ASKING ME TO DRESS UP LIKE MICKEY!":lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I thought about having my Dh do that to give the girls a good laugh...if the rental costume was not so much I would have asked....:goodvibes

Wonder how many members out of the 1000+ parties are DIS members?and how many non DIS members there are? When they e-mailed everyone also wonder how many filled out an application to throw one?

I have to say that being on the DIS is what made me want to have this party so I can gab about it with all of you. Not sure if I would have said "Yes" if did not come to this Forum.

Love this idea - I may just have to lift it! My birthday is on the 24th and this would be a great way to celebrate both. Are you ok with sharing

I definitely think we'll do the towel animal contest.

I was also thinking of giving away small gift bags of the h20 products we have accumulated over the last few cruises. We really racked up with them on the 11 night Med cruise.

I think I'm going to use our Mickey pancake mold and make Mickey rice crispy treats on popsicle sticks with the ears dipped in chocolate.

*this posted on my daughter's account instead of mine -- PhotoLisa*

I was chosen and am hosting our party on Sunday the 27th since the Hannah Montana concerts in our area are on Friday and Saturday.

We're "Mickey's Boat of Crazy Cajuns." http://houseparty.com/party/43902

We leave on a 7-Day Eastern on 2/2/08 so this is our warm-up party to get our door decorations, plan which tastings we'll do, look over Navigators to see which of the games and shows in Rockin Bar D we want to attend at night, etc.

With our crazy group of 13 going on the trip, we shouldn't have any difficulty coming up with things to do. A long time ago, I downloaded songs from the deck party and started teaching my grandkids the dances that go along with them. We'll attempt to put those dances and songs together for all the other kids at the party. Youtube.com has a bunch of videos of the deck parties with all the songs/dances.

Anyone in my area needing an invite?

Here's my correct user account.

Oh -- and my birthday is on Jan 25th! Lots of Aquarians hosting parties!

Most definitely it will be fun to share birthdays and birthday ideas :dance3:

Love the H2O products idea....only thing is I will have to buy them. I use them here at home and love them. Mostly the Chocolate body wash...smells sooooo good. Have to check to see what they offer in small sizes.

sure wish we new what they will be sending us, would sure make it easier on what we will or wont buy for gifts. I could also just put together one or 2 gift baskets and have them as prizes or a raffle.

This is going to be fun....could turn out to be expensive also if we don't watch ourselves :upsidedow
