:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: I live about halfway between Dayton and Cincy; anyone in either city I would sure love an invite.....

DH and I would like to go too! :yay: We're in the OKCity area. PM me, pleeeease!!!!

YIPPEE!!! We have been at WDW the last few days, and got home late last night. I had completely forgotten that DH filled out the application for the DCL House Party, and we got the acceptance last night. I thought that maybe we had missed the boat, because we had been out of town. Anyway, we got our houseparty site started and making our plans.

So, if there's anyone in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area that wants to come to a party, we're in N. St. Pete. Send me a PM!!!

DH is putting together our slide show and I'm working on the menu. We are going go concentrate on telling our friends that yes, you CAN afford a DCL cruise and the memories of a lifetime are worth saving for. We also decided not to send out invites until after the holidays. When I mentioned the party to my sister she groaned a little thinking, Oh no something else to put on the calendar, when I stressed that it was AFTER the holidays she relaxed a bit saying, "When you mentioned it I just heard, "I want you to come to my cruise party!" and my mind just shut down thinking, no not another event. I didn't even pay attention to the date.":sad2:

I find that will probably be true for a lot of people and I want them to be excited to come when I send them the invite or talk with them so I'm holding off on the invites until after Jan 1. I am having a great time planning and getting my raffel baskets together. I found some pins from our first cruise and one of castaway club lanyards that I put in the raffel box along with a framed Disney pin set. I am so excited about the planning I just hope the party goes well too!:yay:

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! :goodvibes

I've been sitting here, trying to figure out what I need to buy for my house party. I wish we knew exactly what DCL was sending us in the kit, so we don't purchase the same items. Does anyone know how we can find out exactly what they're providing? From what I've read, they'll send their kit two weeks before the party. I'm not sure if that will give me enough time to order other goodies online.

I agree it makes it hard. I want to purchase some H2O products for the gift bags or a set for a raffle prize and some other stuff.

Maybe we can find out through House Party...I will e-mail them and ask if they know :thumbsup2

EDIT: okay sent an e-mail to David the one who runs this shebang. I have his personal e-mail because I have already talked with him about a snafu on my page. I will let you know what he says as soon as I hear back :thumbsup2

I need to catch up on thread reading, but when y'all say "raffle" do you mean that you are going to SELL raffle tix? Or give them to guests?

Agree that it would be VERY nice to know what is in the goodie box from DCL!!

I am planning on just giving them a number to win a gift and also play pictionary and the winner gets a gift. I want to use the H2O products because that is what DCL uses...and I like them also.

Thanks Robin! I was going to email them as well. I appreciate your help!

I love all these ideas. I am "pirating" them all. I am doing "Life on the Disney Cruise" as my theme. Starting with Sail Away Deck Party, Check the kids into the Oceaneer's Club, Visit to the Spa, Bingo (Disney, of course), Captain's Gala (appetizers), Entertainment at the Walt Disney Theater (Disney Scene It), Dinner (talk about the restaurants), Time for bed (towel art challenge - I downloded instructions from Youtube on the elephant), Midnight Dessert Buffet, end by giving out the "Castaway Club" party bags.

I found H2O products at Marshall's of all places. I, too, am doing a "Personal Navigator" as the itinerary for the evening to keep everyone (me!) on schedule.

I am trying out my Disney recipes on New Year's Eve.

Thanks Robin! I was going to email them as well. I appreciate your help!

We are leaving in the morning for 2 days at WDW and then a cruise on the wonder.
I haven't been able to set up my page yet--the site won't work for me--would you be able to pass that email on to me?

Hi everyone,
Still waiting to hear back from David, hopefully he will get back to me soon.

I have decided to add BINGO to the games since we always play Bingo on the ship. I am asking all the guests to bring themselves and $2 each. I am putting in $40 for bingo - $20 per game (will play 2 games) and than divide the moneys that my guests bring into 2 and add it to the Bingo pot.

As they walk in the door I to will be taking there pictures and announcing them by first name with an added Disney name of there favorite character.

I will hand them a drink...as DCL does when boarding, and play the DCL horn as we set sail once everyone is on board

Than we will have our fire drill. I will tell everyone things like ...
First of all "Do not fall off the ship"
second " No matter what do not ever push your husband off the ship'
things like that that will relate to husbands and kids because it is a all woman's party.

Than we will talk Disney and such....have our Martini tasting (as I always do on the ship)

play Bingo, play Pictionary( to win a H2) gift basket) eat, do a spa treatment for the hands and others but still working all that out.

We will have a door prize also so as they walk into the door they will also be able to pick a number out of a Mickey Mouse hat to win another H2O gift set.

That is my game plan so far. Am still thinking of things and getting some great ideas from all of you.

By the way Dh is our designated driver. He will bring anyone home that needs it and pick them up the next day to retrieve there car :thumbsup2

Is anyone else doing this? I am one of the 1000 hosts picked to host a DCL house party and want it to be a great time but need some ideas so I thought I'd come to the experts here on the Dis! So far, I know we are going to be having Konk Coolers and (my fav) Captain's Treasures (a drink special from pirate night). But I need some other good ideas for food, games/entertainment, and non-alcoholic drinks for the under-age group. Anyone have some fabulous ideas for a great party??? :woohoo: I'll take all the ideas you have! Thanks in advance!

Wow, you have given me some great ideas.

I have a couple good pictures of the ship to blow up and make into a backdrop.

I love the ide of announcing the names and the horn. I just need to get a copy of the horn. Any suggestions?

I am thinking of doing a pin trading ( we have so many duplicates now)

Have my DGD's dressup in their princess costumes and have pixs and autographs. I think they will get a kick out of that.

I need to see if I have the Mickey Head to make those rice crispy treats. I may also try to make the Mickey bar. Fingers crossed on that one.

I was thinking of napkin folding, but the towel is cool. Where did you get the instructions? I have attended several napkin folding classes, but never a towel folding class.

Keep the ideas flowing.

Just wanted to offer an invitation to anyone in the Baltimore / Harford County area of Maryland. I have invited some friends and family, but the more the merrier. Kids are welcome too! Send me a PM, so I can e-mail you the invite!

I am so excited to be hosting this party!!!!!
