I have never ventured over to the debate board, and the reviews here don't make me want to, but it's an interesting question, and one which I've been asking myself lately. I'm a veteran of 11
DCL cruises, so I obviously like the product a lot, but it seems to me that the prices for DCL, which have always been on the high side, are getting a bit more skewed when compared to similar cruises and itineraries.
For example, the cheapest balcony room you can get right now for a 7-nighter on the Magic for fall 2004 is around $1300. By comparison, HAL's ms Zaandam sails a similar itinerary out of Port Canaveral for under $1000 for a balcony room. DCL's prices used to be more in line with that.
I find myself looking to other lines more recently. I actually opted for the Zaandam this fall and cancelled a reservation on the Magic, saving almost $800 in the process.
To me, DCL is probably still worth it, but the return I'm getting for my dollar seems to be less and less and the prices creep up.
