We are doing fine. Alot going on between the baby and Megan and Jose setting a wedding date. They are getting married on Oct 6, 2011. They have to do it here because they did not give us enough time to get the cruise wedding done. They are getting married at South Park Country Club. I am finally getting the stuff done for alaska. Got the plane ticets and am going to work on the hotel proom for before and the night after the crusie. I am looking forward to it. We are havin snow showers today. I want to be at castaway Cay!!!!!!

Me too supposed to be 27 here tonight!!! I thought this was florida!!!!!

Great idea, thank you so much.

We are really looking forward to this, or at least most of us are. My son is going under protest. His wife really wants to go, but he insists you have to be 60 to go to Alaska:confused3 Must have gotten his thought process from my ex.:lmao:

I have already been doing some research and was wondering if anyone else is considering flying into Seattle versus Vancouver BC?

I am considering taking the train from Seattle to Vancouver and the bus back to Seattle. This way my grand children will get all modes of transportation on this trip.

Well I am sure that your son will come around. I assume "all modes of transportation" you mean planes, trains, boats, and automobiles? I have to agree that if you mention Alaska most people think Holland and over sixty people gambling away there retirement. Look forward to meeting some of you and the cruise.

And did I read you are CAT R? WOWzers! :worship:

We are flying into Vancouver. We found a great rate and booked in Oct.
I am getting very excited.

No, you don't have to be old to cruise to Alaska. My DH and I (Plus the other couple we are traveling with) will just under 40..........by a year.

My son, 13, is only going because it is DCL and to say he has been to Alaska.
He will have his friend with him

My daughter, 10, is excited because it is DCL. Her favorite cruise line.

We looked at booking on another line, but were very sad at the thought. Plus, there will be more for the kids to do on Disney. It is great since there are activities for adults, kids and families.

I have to admit that all this cold weather is making me rethink our decision to go...LOL

Few things:

We booked Delta frequent flier and it cost us 40,000 miles to get from GSP-Vancouver. Flights from GSP are normally expensive, though.

I just got an incredible rate at the Fairmont Airport for the night of August 30th. Call DCL and ask for their deal. It was, literally, half of the rack room rate.

The Fairmont Waterfront is full for the nights before our cruise. I checked on ressies for 3 nights beforehand and both Disney and the Fairmont directly said they were booked up.

Ok

Flight from Newark to Vancouver booked...paid for all the tickets but the cost went down so we grabbed it

Hotel when we get there - booked

Now I have to start reading about Alaska and get on a weight loss plan....

Just booked our flight (DW and me) Boston to Long Beach on points for some time at DisneyLand before the cruise. DD did our booking along with her flight so we will all be on the same plane. At this point we are the only ones on the flight. This is going to be a little weird as we leave Boston at 6:20 pm and get in at Long Beach at 9:40 pm for an 8 hour flight.

Now to get a Flight to Vancouver for the cruise and hotel room for a night or two there.

Hope it is going to be warmer for the cruise then it was at Disney World the 1st to the 8th of December. The morning of the day we left there was frost on the cars and the golf course at Disney Old Key West.

I think I can hear my cabin 7604 for the cruise calling me. Wondering what it is going to feel like getting on the Disney Wonder after being on the Disney Dream in February. Probably like going to Disney World and then going to DisneyLand.

Hotel booked in Vancouver, hotel booked in Friday Harbor, San Juan Islands kayak trip booked, now to work on hotel in Seattle and the bus, train and plane transportation. Would really like them to get the shore excursions up so I can work on those. In the mood since we just got back from the western Caribbean on the Magic.

Looks like we will get back to Maine before you leave Vancouver. We are flying Red eye from Seattle on the 30th and get into Portland the 31st around 10:40 AM. I'm glad that I will be retired by that time to adjust from jet lag.

I was looking at adventure by Disney for ports. It is a lot of money. My concern is that it is 3 days of touring in a row. I know I will be tired. I can not imagine how the kids will be.

You'd be surprised. We did 7 days in a row in the Med. By the 6th port we were wiped out, but the first 2 were only 1/2 day tours, the middle 3 were all day tours and we got through them. My kids were 11 and 8 and survived and did sleep on the buses at times, but I wouldn't change if for the world.

IMO, only 3 intensive port days seems like a real vacation to me!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I will have to look at it again.
We would like more adventure tours such as zip lining and kayaking. I wish ABD offered it in their package.

Bumping us up to the 1st page.
