We didn't take the kids. They stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa.:) This trip was just for DH and I. ;) It was really nice having time to ourselves. After two weeks we were ready to deal with teenage drama again. :rotfl:

welcome:love: dizmomof2
we have teenagers too...lol...they will be 17 and 15 by the time of this cruise.
And we seriously looked at the transatlantic too...but didnt really want to go without the girls...although i am hoping to that this cruise might be last 'big family holiday wholly at our expence' the 4 of us take together. The eldest wants to do 'Camp America' the following year...and then there was 3...:lmao:

Hello all! We have just booked this cruise as well. My DH (realdizdadof2) and I just got off of the Eastbound TA and booked for our family. We also have 2 girls and it looks like there will be lots of other teens for them on board. :thumbsup2

We are:
Jen (me)
Steve (dh)
DD 16 yrs by the cruise date
DD 15 yrs by the cruise date

We can't wait to get back on that ship!! (actually we've only been on the Magic before this will be the first time on the Wonder) :goodvibes

Welcome. We are two empty nesters.

Good luck!!! we took our last family vacation in december and the were 21 & 24. As long as we are paying they want to go. I do believe that was it or us though. The youngest just joined the Airforce and is on his ws to germany. the older one is moving to texas in August. So I believe we are done!!

I am in tallahasse, cleaning and packing up a college kid and it feels like 90!!

I'll trade you too! I'm getting ready for a garage sale(what was I thinking), and it's freezing here, only 45 out there--Michigan in May, yuck, I'll take our March/April weather, much warmer and drier.

It is raining again.

I was just wishing that we were go to Alaska in a few short months.

Sadly, no big vacation for us this year. We need to replace our fence. We got a few estimates and:scared1:

Matt is the lucky one. He is joining the Steary family on their upcoming cruise on Allure of the Seas.

I know how you feel, no big vacation for us either, I'm looking at Chicago or Toronto for ideas--trips that we can drive to and are kid friendly, and cheaper. Anyone have any suggestions for hotels in Chicago--we are looking at going to the Aquarium and Musuems in that area, I have no clue which hotels are nice and offer all the great perks--free parking, breakfast and pool--gosh, I miss Disney this year! Oh well, saving for Alaska--has been my mantra :flower3:

Hope everyone is getting better weather then us in MI, raining again and 50.

Marina wants me to take her to Chicago or New York so she can go to American girl store.

We will be camping in a few weeks at my mom's property and will be heading up to Muskegon State Park for camping in August.

I am saving for Alaska, too. I want to be able to go on the any excursion I want and not have to settle for something else. I was looking at a helicopter/dog sled that was $500 pp.
I can not wait for DCL to post their excursions so we can start planning .

Lucky boy!
we where planning on having a 'small' holiday this year too...in preperation for Alaska...so we had a look around for a cheap European beach holiday...2 weeks lying on a beach soounded good to me and the girls even if himself would be climbing the walls after 2 days ( at most), but...'cheap ' and 'European' seem to be an oxymoron...so Dave had a little peek at the DCL website, and Bobs your uncle, Fannys your Anut...as we say..., we find ourselves on the Dover to Barcalona reposition:rolleyes1
How did THAT happen?:confused3
The cruise and flight home where the least of it , let me tell you. We are still trying to find reasonably priced accomodation for the 4 nights still unbooked somewhere along the Costa Brava or Costa Dorada....they dont call it 'Costa Packet' for nothing!:scared1:

so, 10 weeks to go...FE gifts being sorted, suitcases in the bedroom...AND NO BL****Y HOTEL YET! Bad times:confused:

Lucky Matt. We have nothing planned for the summer other than job hunting and housework. I really can't complain though we have been to WDW to see good friends twice this year!! Then a western in October!!!! Gotta lose some weight first!!

Sorry guys that I've been MIA... I'm just tied up in our summer plans right now. We're going on the Aug 18th Med sailing and I've been thinking about that one right now.

That sounds fabulous, can wait to see pictures.

We'll be doing our first cruise ever - Alaska has always been the one place I wanted to go to on a boat and figured the best way to do it with little kids is with DCL! We (okay - me especially) have become obsessed with Disney since first going a year ago.

I'm hoping to see a few more young ones join the cruise - my two DS will be 7 and 5 at time of sailing.

We are from Ontario, but head out to Vancouver every August to see family (except this year because we were just there for the Olympics!). This trip is a perfect add on to that annual trek. I expect we will be in Whistler/Vancouver area for about a week before sailing.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Good Morning
Maybe if a group of us stay in the same place we will get a better rate??
But first lets think about this upcoming Oct first and that Cruise:lmao::lmao::lmao:.

Honestly we usually stay with family - only hotel we have stayed at is the Delta by the airport. (Which we love in August because the walking trails around it are bordered by blackberry bushes, and late August is the perfect time for picking! The boys always end up with purple mouths and hands!)

I do recommend that anyone coming into Vancouver for the first time try to spend a few days there. We love Stanley Park and the Aquarium, as well as the trails around Lynn Valley in North Van. Public transport is VERY easy- even during the craziness of the Olympics! Most of our B.C. time is spent in Whistler - if you have time to make that trip please do! And for the best burgers and banana splits ever, be sure to hit Splitz in the village!

Christi, I would love to take Laurel to the American girl store--but sadly she wants to go to the Jonathan Rand bookstore in Mackinaw city, called Chiller Mania--so my hope for a fun filled weekend in Chicago has been side tracked to Mackinaw--not that bad of a switch though.

We'll be headed to PJ Hoffmaster(sp?) in late June/early July to camp--oh I hope the bugs aren't bad like last year though--by August you guys will have a warm Lake MI, in June--it's still pretty chilly.

Regarding excursions--I can't wait either--I've never planned a DC before, I keep reading about all the ports and adventures--and not getting anything else done around the house :surfweb: LOL!!! Don't tell Rick!

Enjoy the hot weather! 86 today in MI!
