"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

We now get to say" We cruise next month!!!"

The Vancouver Aquarium is very different from Sea World. Sea World focuses on the larger marine animals while Vancouver Aquarium focuses on the smaller ones. There are wonderful exhibits, no rides whatsoever. There is an Amazon rainforest walk through complete with sloughs, caymen gators, birds, etc. There is tropical fish, sharks, kelp forest and a whole section deciated to fish that are found on the Pacific Coast. There is a wonderful Beluga exhibit that is great. You can view both up above and below ground. If there is only adults in your party there is an informative behind the scenes tour. Not sure what age children are allowed to participate. Also, sea otters and you might be able to see some of the marine rescue seal pups. They nurse them back to health and then release them back into the wild.

There is a small snack bar and a beautiful gift shop.

I used to go to the aquarium every summer so I'm certainly down for going back. At this point though it's a vague memory to me so no input in terms of whether you/izzy would like it. :)

Based on the description I think Iz will LOVE it. Sounds pretty neat. Let's put that on the list! And this place: I am so trying one of everything. It's only a few blocks from our hotel! A half dozen of these puppies and a giant cup of coffee will keep me content during baby naptime :thumbsup2

We now get to say" We cruise next month!!!"

:woohoo:

I am getting SO EXCITED. Anyone still needing kid jeans/long-sleeves etc - Children's Place is having a HUGE 4th of July Sale and I have a code for an extra 15% off that can be used by three different people. Message me if you want it! I had another one I used. Got Iz's semi-formal dress, two pairs of jeans, three long sleeved shirts and two summer outfits all for about $60. Oh, and leggings with a tutu attached. I couldn't resist. :rolleyes1 I love CP sales. Target also had some cute Genuine Kids hoodies for 6.49.

Happy early 4th, Americans! And Happy Canada Day to all you Canucks! :goodvibes

Summer finally decided to show up - just in time for Canada Day:goodvibes. It's beautiful outside - not too hot - just right. In capris now. 53 days and counting until we leave.

For all my fellow cruisers if you go to vancouverattractions.com go up to the top of the page where it says coupons......you can print out a page that has coupons for aquarium, capilano bridge, stanley park horse drawn tours...etc

Camera people - I posted on the FB page as well, but DH got a nice zoom lens for graduation (got his Master's on Thursday after lots of hard work) and he wants to know if it will be sufficient for most wildlife shots in Alaska. You know, like seals or eagles on floating chunks of ice :-) He got a 55-250 Canon with IS - this one. The gift was a surprise to us both! He had been planning to rent a slightly larger telephoto, but we are hoping this one will be sufficient for amateur shots. He's still going to rent a wide angle, but this would cut our rental bill in half.
Yay for nice inlaws! :goodvibes

Thank you for feeding my OCD....:lmao: Now I can start labeling those gifts that don't have names to them!

Please say prayers for my sister in law. Her mother passed away yesterday. She was a wonderful person and we will miss her. She went on a Disney cruise with us last year and became one of us. ;)
