DCL Has Their Protocol Out!!!

How long do we have until it must be used? I am considering moving our WBPC from March 2022 to the next year but who knows if there will even be any more PC sailings? Eventually, they will become more rare.
Pre-covid, onboard bookings (OBB) or placeholders had to be used within 24 months. Note that the post you quoted had incorrect information -- it's a 10% discount off the cruise fare and for cruises of 7+ nights a reduced deposit (10% instead of standard 20%).

I am wondering about the new CDC guidance to test and quarantine for 10 days if positive, all asymptomatic vaccinated individuals that are exposed to a person that is positive. That could set off a trigger of quarrantines among vaccinated on a cruise.
When did this come out? :scratchin
The hospital where I work hasn’t changed to this policy. A fully vaccinated employee who has a household member with covid can still report to work and monitor for symptoms.

It's new. I heard it in the last two days or so. I'm an ER charge nurse and our hospital won't keep us out either. They can't afford to because they'd have to close the place.

I agree. For us. if our children were under 12 and wasn't eligible to get the vaccine, we would not be going. I would be overly nervous...it would not be a fun vacation.
With the current surge in cases, I think allowing un-vaccinated people on the ship will be a huge mistake. There will be cases regardless of social distancing.
I'm currently seriously considering switching to NCL for our Greek Isles cruise just because the 100% vaccine rule is so appealing.

I'm sure there will be cases even on fully vaccinated ships, because even vaccinated people are getting Covid due to the Delta variant. It's a lot less severe if you're vaccinated, but that doesn't mean Covid won't still be a risk.

Yea me too... I told my wife of the DCL guidelines for the Dream and we both agreed that we don't feel comfortable with unvaccinated adults. Yea I know vaccinated people can get the rona but my comfort level will be higher. I also don't feel comfortable going into Florida, they just discovered a new variant specific from Florida. I think if they DCL changes to only vaccinated then I would try and switch my cruise from a 7 night eastern carribean to a 7 night Mexican Cruise leaving out of San Diego. I was also eyeing the NCL cruise as well.

I agree with you. It would be far better to sail with 100%. I would be tempted but not interested in Greek Isles.

No real change to DCL from any of that since masks were already required indoors. Maybe it just pushes off the potential of lifting some of the restriction.
I know people were complaining about masks being required indoors on DCL so I thought I’d mention it. I wonder if other cruiselines will go there. I think they just had a positive on Celebrity.

I noticed that it seems that RCCL has changed from masks only for unvaccinated indoors to masks for all (for cruises that are 100% vaccinated for 12 and over).

I think the real tell in how this goes will be the response when kids ARE eligible for the vaccine. I think that after this wave, guidance will go back to masks indoors for unvaccinated only, and that cruise lines other than DCL will follow suit. I am putting a deposit on a non Florida-based cruise before the end of the month, which is when some of the more favorable policies expire.

Let’s hope this is the last wave. I think I’ve said before..,

I have seen nothing about Royal changing mask guidance recently. Depending on port and ship, those that are 95% vaccinated should still be masks for unvaccinated, and all other ships should be masks for everyone (assuming US departure)

Where did you see this has changed for 95% vaccinated cruises?

It's not for the 95% vaccinated cruises. The protocol for Texas sailings, which is requires 100% proof of vaccination for 12 and over, used to not mention required masking for everyone all the time indoors, but it may have been an incomplete posting of the protocol. The Texas protocol is different from FL in the testing, insurance, etc.

I hadn't seen that.

I did see that Royal just changed testing requirements. Everyone on sailings more than 4 days must have a PCR test 3 days prior, regardless of vaccination status.

This week 2 fully vaccinated people on the Celebrity Edge tested positive after they went to the sick bay voluntarily after coming down with symptoms. I think, at least for Florida, or anywhere in the Red category, self tests will be required. (Either antigen or PCR)
From https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise?dPort=florida-august This change was made in the last couple of hours.

It's EXTREMELY likely Disney follows suit.

I agree, at the very least. By board rules, we are not allowed to discuss by name the reason for the restrictions. However, it is clear, Voldemort is back.
