So we booked our first DCL next September.. We are planning on placing the cruise Dates between 2 WDW Resorts...

Plan is to do a 4 night WDW Resort - 4 Night cruise- 1 night WDW then fly home
This is embarassing but we are one of those "Foreign" Groups that come with 2 HUGE suitcases + carryon per Person.. We are 4 People in an Oceanview on the cruise. I am thinking we can get most under the bed etc...

My question. does DCL limite the amount of "checked" bags? Also I recall reading about Food being a no-no.. The Thing is most likely half of one suitcase will be filled with WDW Snack credits and I always fill one suitcase with Trader Joe Food. ( I am an expat who loads up on unhealthy American Food so I feel at home).

Is Food an issue.. Will DCL let me Keep this stuff in "quaratine" or better yet will the Beach Club hold luggage for 4 nights before check-in or between ressies?

As long as the food is NOT fruit or meat and is in its original packaging SEALED - not partially eaten - you should be allowed to bring it.

People have reported being able to store luggage at their resort during the cruise. Are you staying at the Beach Club both before and after?

We did the Disney Surf and Turf. We spent one week at WDW then a 7-night cruise on the Fantasy. At the end of our WDW stay we had about 35 snack credits left. I stopped at the shop at the resort (Coronado Springs) and used all of them on candy, cookies, nuts, etc. One small bag had nothing but these snacks and there was no problem. It was great for all the shows and movies - although we still bought popcorn! We still had some stuff left over that we took back for friends and family.

Good to hear! We will most likely be staying at the BC before and after. I will ask at the resort boards.

I had four large suitcases under the bed this past cruise. My luggage nests but I didn't have to do that which was nice since I could slide them out and throw in dirty clothes each night.

We sailed on the Magic last week. Our family of four had 3 large suitcases, 1 medium, and 3 small rollers. It was a lot of very heavy luggage. It all fit under the bed.

Our last cruise we stayed at Wilderness Lodge before our cruise and Art of Animation after our cruise. Bell Services happily transfered one bag for us from WL to AoA and stored it at one location or the other (I didnt ask which) until we checked in at AoA.

The concern I would have with storing food is the possibility of bugs deciding they want the food more than you do. Some food is packaged really well, but some of the snack items (I am thinking eg the mickey shaped rice krispie treats) are packaged in a more disposable less long term packaging. If you are going to do it, I would suggest bringing some large ziploc bags and keep the snacks in their original packaging but them put them into the ziplocs and seal them up. One extra layer of protection.

As PP mentioned, the resorts will hold your luggage at one or the other location(if doing different resorts) while you are on a DCL.
Go to the Bell Services desk during your first resort stay, talk with them, and they will tell you the process you need to follow.

There is also some room in the closet for luggage. That's where we used to put ours before they made the beds higher (although we have only 2 people in the room so fewer clothes - but often 3 suitcases and 2 carry ons). If you put them under a section where you only hang shorter clothing, like shirts, you can make it work, especially if you put the smaller ones or carry on bags there.
