DCL Europe Summer 2022 approaching - what are you doing?

Their new ship was sailing in the Baltic I almost booked it a few months ago, but I wasn’t sure about the teen programming. I believe that ship is no longer doing those sailings. They repositioned it somewhere else when the war started. I have heard they really good pizza and food.
If the ship has an Alfredo’s, then yes, it is the best we’ve had at sea (the pizza on deck is OK too)…. The calzone was good too!6DDEDD31-065C-4CA3-8D94-3D93330BF935.jpeg355CFD99-50D4-4C90-9ED7-7B5BBBFD2A1E.jpeg

Anybody looking for an Iceland cruise princess has a 14 day on their new ship enchantment 1100 Per person balcony room.

Any of my fellow Baltic cruise folks hear anything on the replacement ports? We are down to the final hours and I have seen nothing come through.

They changed the PIF date to 60 days. The first Baltic cruise isn't until July 30.

Well I guess I will beat a dead horse one last time and say that it’s 4:46 in Celebration and 1:46 in Burbank and still no word on the replacement port for the Baltic cruise even though DCL set their own deadline as today. Also, know someone who got through today and asked about this specifically while on the call. CM knew nothing beyond what was shared in email. No info to front line employees and missing their own established deadlines, Disney in 2022.

Did it change? I received an email from DCL this month telling me that my PIF date is April 12th for the August 10th Northern European Cruise.

Correct, via email.

Dear ,

We are writing with important information regarding your Northern European sailing aboard the Disney Magic on July 30, 2022.

We have made the decision to modify your sailing’s itinerary and plan to visit an alternate port instead of St. Petersburg, Russia. We are currently in discussions with ports in other countries and will be reaching out to you again later this month with an updated itinerary.

The health, safety and security of our Guests and Crew remains a top priority for Disney Cruise Line. Should you have questions about your sailing, please feel free to contact us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-939-2784.

We look forward to providing you with an enjoyable cruise experience later this year.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew

Note that although the Paid in Full date changed, the dates for booking excursions and onboard activities are still a few months before the cruise, based on your Castaway Club level (if any).

Holland America just posted a change in Europe.
They're loaning one of their ships the Volendam to The Netherlands to house Ukrainian refugees.
This cancels their sailings to Norway, the British Isles, and Iceland from May 15th till July 3rd.
The Volendam was not scheduled to go to St. Petersburg on any of these canceled sailings.

I don't expect DCL to do this, but it is unexpected (to me) and I'm curious to see what (if anything) other cruise lines will do.

Bookings must have been really low.

We just received notice that Disney is extending final payment on our June Italy/Greece cruise. This is probably not a great sign, as this seems to happen often leading up to canceled cruises. That, combined with the lack of a replacement port for St. Petersburg, has me worried. If they cancel, when other lines that we could have chosen still sail, I will look at other lines for future cruises. If other lines can sail this itinerary, Disney can too and should do it for customer loyalty, even if they have more cancelations than they would like. They could easily fill these ships with Europeans and discounted GTY rates. Hopefully I am misreading the situation, since that would mean the Magic would sit empty all summer or they would need to scramble to find both ports and passengers starting at the end of this month. That doesn't seem very practical. Maybe it is just a move to stop cancelations and allow those on the fence to feel comfortable for awhile?

Here is the email:

All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well. We want to let you know we’ve further modified our final payment policies for select sailings aboard the Disney Magic as we wait for clarification on the requirements to visit the ports included on these itineraries.

For sailings aboard the Disney Magic beginning on June 4, 2022 through June 27, 2022, we are extending final payment until 30 days prior to sailing for Guests booked in unrestricted stateroom categories. Onboard cruise activities can be scheduled within your Castaway Club booking window once final payment is received.

They did the same with the transatlantic and May Med cruises, so it looks like its a rolling policy. As of now the transatlantic is still as scheduled and so are the May Med cruises. As long as they have not been cancelled, then I would still have hope for the rest of the summer season.

Thanks for the optimism! I hope you are right. I really want to go on this cruise!
