I suspect you're taking my post wrong. My point is that it doesn't matter if you, or anybody has a dog allergy. Service dogs are permitted.

If they aren't trained properly is an entirely different matter, which also doesn't depend on if somebody is allergic to dogs.
I understand that service dogs are permitted and I am not complaining about legitimate service dogs that dont jump all over people.

Unfortunately many people do not bring trained service dogs which, for someone with an allergy, this is a problem and does have something to do with me.

What your saying is basically like saying someone with a peanut allergy can be served peanuts with their food by Disney because peanuts are permitted in the park. It doesnt matter if they have a peanut allergy or not because peanuts are allowed to be served. I cannot have dogs jumping all over me whether they are permitted or not.

Removal of an animal where the owner claims it is a service animal is permitted by law based on the animal's behavior and whether it is under the handler's control or not. That is why my dog allergy does have to do with where other people can use their "service" dogs (not jumping on top of me) and why Disney intervened.

Yeah we did!! I think it has skewed our viewpoint of Alaska. Everyone (CMs, locals) we talked to said it was the best week. Did you see the boat that snapped lines a few days after us with that weather in Juneau?
We were there too. :) The weather was AMAZING.

We heard about the ship. Scary!

It's interesting that the Wonder folks were pushing the cabins while the Wish was pushing Poly. I feel stereotyped lol, although maybe accurately (see below). We didn't attend any of the meetups, always had a conflict. We did get our gift at some point every day though, the ladies at the stand on deck 4 were really friendly. I was happy about the baseball caps, I've wanted one for a while. Planned to wear it under my rain jacket, but never ended up needing it.

We stayed a week at the cabins last year and it was one of the best trips we've ever had. I've never been so relaxed on a Disney trip. We let the kids have the bedroom and slept on the Murphy bed, it worked so we could stay up later. The dehumidifier does make some noise, but it's more of a white noise thing and didn't bother us. We loved eating on the deck. Laundry also wasn't an issue. Dropped it off, took the golf cart out looping for a bit, then picked it up (it was free too). Fort Wilderness is a gem.

I really think the cabins would be selling better if they got rid of that second bathroom sink and put a stackable w/d unit in its place. The plumbing and electrical is already there and it's an outside wall so easy to duct the vent. It's almost like that was the initial plan and someone decided at some point to do a sink instead.

I know a second sink is useful especially for a family-focused unit like those cabins but I have to think a w/d amenity would be better appreciated by more people.

Sigh. We continue to reach a mutual understanding. I don't disagree with your desire not to be bothered by dogs. I did not say anything about peanut allergies, or any other kind.

My point is that any true service dog is permitted. If that dog is not properly trained, that's a separate story. One that should be addressed regardless of any alergy, or lack thereof, on the part of other guests.

I swear “fake” (as in they are ill behaved and/or not trained for anything specific) service dogs are almost exclusively a west coast thing. I nearly never see that elsewhere.

I think the correct term for this sort of animal is Emotional Support Animal. A real service animal is trained extensively. Apparently there are federal laws even just for emotional support animal accommodation; Disney has to legally avoid running afoul of these.

The college I attended had a large number of “emotional support dogs”. I think they cracked down on it pretty quickly after I left though because turns out having a bunch of 18-22 year olds that don’t train their pets and then bring them all over campus and into classrooms can be classified as “distracting”.

Wish they had cracked down on it before I left but I digress.

I completely agree!! I have never, ever had this issue at Disney World.

At Disneyland they are running rampant 🤣🤣 and you see them with like these boujee pink "service animal" vests that you can order on Amazon 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
