DCL Changing Staterooms

How often does this happen? Once DCL assigns a stateroom to you in a GTY category, how often do they change it?

poohs4me, are you saying you've received your docs and are happy/unhappy with where you're at?
There is always a possibility of a change, but a lot of things that factor into it.
Should we be sending pixie dust for a change or for a stay?

We have not received documents yet. I noticed on DCL's web page that we have been assigned a room and am wondering how stable it is.

I am happy with our room assignment, but would not be disappointed if it changed either. I am just anxious!! I love researching the room assigned and am just wondering whether it is for sure or if there is a chance of changing again.

We were assigned a cabin the moment we booked, which was 10 months in advance of the cruise.
The week before departure, DCL called our travel agent and said we had been upgraded 4 categories and gave us the new cabin number to put on our luggage tags.
Does DCL take reservations and not give a specific cabin number? I've been on 7 cruises, only 1 on DCL, but I have always gotten a cabin number the moment I placed the reservation.

tvguy - yes, DCL, as most cruiselines, will allow guarantee reservations, meaning you are guaranteed atleast a cabin in the category that you reserved, but there is a possibility you will be upgraded (they will never put you in a lower category). The upgrade is not guaranteed, however.

poohs4me - yep, there would still be the possibility that you might get moved again. Even after you received your docs, there is still the possibility of a move. Some have posted that they've been informed that were upgraded when they are checking in during embarkation. Here's a little pixie dust for the best room possible.
