DCL carry-on alcohol policy changing Sept. 30 2015

and never ever ever do shots. LOL!
Would you be speaking from experience regarding doing shots in a group perchance? ;)
I learnt a long time ago i have a very low toilerance for JD and coke on a long night out resulting in my slipping on an escalator....... Still cannot drink JD to this day.

I've been on 11 Disney cruises. I've seen 1 really bad drunk incident. Unfortunately, it was my 19 yro son on the last night of our 14-night WBPC. He consumed most of a fifth bottle of Patron that a 24 yro friend had bought in a port and didn't want to declare or carry back in his luggage or something. Yep, tequila learning experience (haven't we all done that?) on a Disney cruise. If carrying on the liquor was not allowed I guess one could say it would've been less likely to have occured. Then again, my kid not doing something stupid would've prevented that, too. LOL! I don't know how horrible his behavior was prior to my finding him layed out by the deck 8 elevators. My younger son who came to get me said he saw the big mural of Walt outside the WD Theater and ran straight into that wall with his arms held open wide attempting to give Walt a hug. I'm sure that would've been startling to see. And probably him puking in the garbage can by the elevators wouldn't have been enjoyable. I kept him quiet getting him to the room, though. He wasn't noisy once in the room other than the throwing up for hours.

ok this had me laughing for the fact they only times I drank I little too much were on Disney Cruises, all stuff I bought on the ships lol. This past cruise one night had a shot too many of Patron and was kinda drunk going back to the room. I chilled out after that night lol

Port vendors will suffer as I always buy my max amount of tequila and rum to bring home. I'm not going to go through the hassle though of having them hold it for me, get it back to me at some point, and then try to hastily pack it in my luggage prior to setting it on the hallway for pick up.
Isn't that the way it works now?

They better start serving Fireball or I'm gonna be even more pissed. That bottle I brought on last time was worth it's weight in gold on my last DCL. Couldn't get Fireball anywhere on the ship and everyone was asking for it. I finally had to start inviting people to the room to do shots because Disney was unable to stock one of the most popular liquors now. This really has me pissed off right now.

Until Sep 30, you can purchase, and bring onboard, directly to your room whatever beverages (wine, liquor, whatever) you wish.

I don't know that it's actually be spelled out how it will be handled after Sep 30 on DCL. But most cruise lines will tag any liquor that's purchased at a port of call, and hold it until the end of the cruise, then return it to you to take through Customs.

Really?!? 6 freaking beers????? That will last an hour or two at the most then I'll have to go buy one of those coolers they sell with 5 crappy beers for $50. This freaking mouse... SMFH
Well, that's 6 beers each. And you can bring on 6 more beers each in each port stop.

This won't be a terribly popular opinion, but I'm glad that they are limiting the type and quantity of alcohol brought on board. I wasn't happy with the idea of booze in the fish extenders, nor the idea of large amounts of alcohol available in the cabins. I saw large numbers of teens roaming around the ship, and I feel more comfortable for my own kids knowing that other rooms don't have huge stashes of hard liquor available. Kids do dumb things, I know I did as a teenager. As a cruise line catering mainly to families, I'd think limiting people to wine and beer in lower quantities will reduce liability for everyone.

I know most people are responsible with their booze. I also know that teens sneak booze pretty frequently. Not a great thing on a ship.

It is parents' responsibility to ensure their kids don't do things like that, not the cruise line's responsibility. If a parent doesn't trust his/her kid not to go into someone else's room and drink, then he/she shouldn't let the teen have free rein on the ship.
