DCL called us with an upgrade!!!!

I am renovating my kitchen and the marble guy mentioned he just moved up from Florida, so I thought it was him. I was on my way to Moonachie to met him. Lol. So, I answered, boy I am glad I did! If Kissimmee, Florida calls, answer!!

It is nice that they moved you up to a better cabin with a verandah, since there was one available. Now you will have a newly remodeled kitchen, and a verandah stateroom for your upcoming cruise! Bonus! Congrats!

My friend who's going to be on a NYC cruise has been upgraded too.

I guess it's a good thing that NYC sailings don't sell as much as the Florida sailings. Upgrades seem to happen more on those. :)

Congrats! I'm definitely hoping for some pixie dust when I go on my cruise in a few weeks. It's our honeymoon, and we were engaged in Disney, and they made us feel so special. They are always so nice. Congrats to you!!!

Prayers and fingers crossed that you get an upgrade too.

Make sure DCL knows you will be on your honeymoon. Also, request to sit by yourselves. Just call DCL.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and honeymoon!

Congratulations!! What an awesome pixie dust story! As rare as this is, and whatever the reason behind it, it makes the Disney magic feel a little more tangible to us all. Thanks for sharing and enjoy!

Congrats & Have Fun !! And yes I never answer phone #s I don't know. Now I will have to keep my eye out:yay:

I was driving to an appointment in North Jersey this afternoon, when my phone rang and it was Kissimmee, Florida calling. I almost didn't answer.

It was DCL calling, they gave DH and me an complimentary upgrade for our cruise next Monday!
We went from Cat. 9C to a 4B. Yes, we are in a Family Verrandah on Deck 8. We were on Deck 2 with an Oceanview. I can not believed this happened to us.

Wow! What Pixie Dust! I start to cry when I got off the phone!

I hope some others got a call or get a call for your upcoming NYC cruises.

Feeling Blessed! Wow! I still am in shock.

We will enjoy the Sail away passed the Statue of Liberty! Need to bring something to toast with!

That's amazing! Congratulations!!! :tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker:

Wow, that's the first I've heard of DCL calling anyone and telling them they had an upgrade.

Typically, it just changes, and you find you either by spotting it on your reservation online, or at the port at check in.

How soon in advance can or does this happen usually? Does it only happen right before the cruise?

We are cruising this Monday, October 2nd. I got the call yesterday.

I really thinks because alot of couples so this cruise and they probably had empty Family verandas.
I did indicate on my reservation that we were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary.
Maybe that helped.

I have been feeling really blessed lately and the upgrade was the cherry on the Sunday.

Now granted I have been without a kitchen for 3 weeks and my house is a mess. In the end it will all be good.

Congratulations, I think our upcoming cruise is pretty much sold out, so no real chance of that one for us.....lol

We received a call about 2 months before sailing in 2010 and given an upgrade from Cat 6B to 4A. It was great to have the extra space since it was 14 nights of a WB Transatlantic. Quite a treat.

Maybe they called to make sure it was ok to take you from an oceanview to verandah. I guess some people might have reasons to avoid a verandah room besides the cost. Personally, I think this is fantastic! Happy for you guys!

And on the other hand, we were called another time, not sure which cruise it was for, but it was an upgrade into a Handicap Accessible verandah, if I remember it was on the Wonder, and the HA staterooms did not have the split bath arrangement. That's one of DW's favorite features, so we declined. That was our reason, so it was nice to be able to say no. The CM that called really tried her best to get me to take it.

That's great!! Enjoy!!!

I would be upset though LOL. I love Deck 2, and that's the only place we stay. I don't like to be up high, and don't like a verandah!

Thanks.

Our first cruise was Deck 8 Cat 4B with our 3 sons. Then we stay Deck 2 inside stateroom in 2012. I love a Verandah! But I would stay in any cabin to be able to cruise.
