Nothing productive is coming out of this thread anymore and it is taking a darker turn so I am closing it.

I'm not going to continue to patronize a company who's management staff feel this acceptable. We have already looked at alternative holiday plans, and as I noted already I'm sure they won't care really, and they did get to save the company that large amount of money, so all is good.

sigh... What companies need to realize is that it is far more expensive in the long run to attract new customers and not managing to retain the old/loyal ones. This is/should be well known by anyone who's ever into any sort of marketing strategy. DCL's loss that you no longer return especially as a Platium Castaway member.

And as a reference to your horrible story of CSR not saying different things at different times, this is precisely why I always try to email/snail mail to document everything. Maybe that'll help next time.
