DCL Brides - Concierge question

just wondering, what are the perks to being concierge for the cruise...although we're not in a concierge room category, we are still considered concierge because of the wedding. (didn't know if that made a difference to the type of service you received)

they bring you something each day like flowers or cookies. I think you also get to book palo reservations and shore excursions in advance of when you otherwise could. Also you can book everything onboard through the concierge without having to wait in line at the shore excursions desk. They save extra spots on excursions - so if online something shows its sold out its possible you can still get a reservation through the concierge onboard. When you first board they usually have something in the cadillac lounge with drinks and some small snacks and stuff.

Also your room key is a different color and you get to skip the line to board the ship.

It wasn't concierge like my bridesmaids had in the Cat 1's...it was more my wedding coordinator making any arrangements I had..she arranged for me to meet with the pianist..she got us down to deck 1 to check out our floral before we sailed...
DFTW booked our Palo and spa appointments at the 105 day mark like the suites..

We did not get nightly gifts..we got a beach bag with 2 DFTW robes but Lisa sailed 4 months after we did and they no longer gave out robes..she got a beach towel.

Room keys are NOT different unless you are in a Cat 3 or higher..but my WC got us into the Concierge party in BBB ...all our friends were there anyway.

We did not get a special check in because our wedding was on the 2 leg of our back 2 back..we never had to check back in at the terminal...but they will give you a boarding ticket #1 and allow you to check in at the Concierge desk..so look for that. There is a special area in the terminal for you and you get to board first!

We did get a Bridge Tour with the Captain, but that was a special invitation from the Captain and not something offered to concierge (at least when my friend tried)

I think that DD told me that at boarding like DisneyDmbNut said all of us who are there at the same time get to board early. We will be flying in on Saturday and hopefully be at the port early anyway. But I do remember her saying we check in a different place and since she will have us linked somehow that whomever is there at the same time and linked can all board at the same time EARLY I guess I didn't realize it was concidered...Concierge!! Each time we have cruised I couldn't stand to wait anyway.....last trip we were at the Port before they had the gates open and actually chatted with the guests getting OFF the cruise while we waited to get ON

Even waiting to get on the ship was fun for me.......

I knew the concierge was different in cat 1 and 2s compared to the rest but I didn't realize that the wedding concierge was so different from a cat 3. that sucks. sorry.

Concierge for Cat 1, 2 and 3 is the same..same people, same services..

I didn't think to ask if I could order a Palo dinner in our room..we were never in our room enough to really know...The best part was having Cathy book our excursions and appointments at the 105 day mark and not having to get up at 3am to get online.

Thats where we always stay, so I am excited to be able to try it for the first time on our next cruise.

Wonder if that is new..we had Palo in 8532 in 2005

They also use to give you free buffet parties in Cat 1..we had a huge party in 2005 but they no longer do that either

We didn't even use our veranda on the VR cruise until the last night..we just never were there except to sleep and change clothes

I am really curious now because we have a bunch of cat 3s booked for family and I am sure they would love it.

The only reason I am doubtful is because we have always stayed in 8548 on every cruise since we first sailed in 1999, except our last cruise on the med (all the suites were sold out =o( We have never had palo.

When I booked and they told me about it I am pretty sure they said it was only cat 1 and 2. If you hear something different - please let me know.

We only had our half a$$ wedding cordinator as a contact. We didn't get robes.....booo....we got a bag abd a beach towel and a box like thing and a cheap frame. We did have little treats each day, plate of cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, mini deserts. Each day they came at a differant time. It was nice. There was no card, I just assumed it was because of the wedding. We didn't get any other perks. No big deal, we had all of our palo reservations made by Cathy ahead of time. We also had already booked excursions. Who would wait until the last minute!

I know we had it on last years..but they were in both 1's, so that doesn't help

Your concierge should call you before the cruise, you can ask them

Lisa..I was so sad when you didn't get Rufaro..She was so great and so excited to help

We did get the strawberries and champagne the night of the VR..but that was it as far as treats..but no cookies or desserts!!

They use to give the wedding couple the watches, but they stopped that too...I just ordered mine on Ebay (which you already knew)

I already booked our excursions (at the 105 day mark) through Disneycruise.com, however our travel companions are not able to book until the 75 day mark (which I think is after next week). I e-mailed concierge and they agreed to book our family for the excursions...that I thought was very generous of them...since we're only doing a 3 day, I'm not expecting to do very much outside the cruise norm, relax, swim, play on Castaway Cay...and since this is everyone's first time cruising, I'm sure whatever we experience will be so very wonderful...
