Where do I get information on how and what to tip? What is the recommended amount? And how many people am I tipping?

Here is a link to a Cruise Tip Calculator

http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/

Very easy to use. Just put in your info and it even tells you how many 1s, 5s, 10s or 20s you need to have for the envelopes if you want to do cash. You can charge your tips to your onboard account too and then you will get a slip and envelope for all the people to give out the last night.

Just wanted to add this link on a current tipping thread

You will be tipping a total of 4 people--head server, server, assistant server, and stateroom host. The TOTAL of these 4 at the suggested amount is $12 per guest per night of cruise. SO, on a 4 night cruise that would be $48 times the number of people in your cabin.

DCL makes it very easy for you. You will get a form in your stateroom giving you the suggested amounts. You can charge your tips at Guest Services (in which case you will put a coupon indicating the charge in the tip envelopes) or you can place cash in the envelopes.

Obviously, tipping is a personal issue and you can choose to tip more or less than the suggested amounts.

Thank you for all your info. I forgot all about this part. Glad there was a post asking about pre or during tipping.
