DCL 25% off for Canadians!

Would any of the TAs (or others) know if this offer has been offered in past years? I doubt we can swing a cruise this Jan but next Jan would be perfect!!! :) Wonder what the chances are???

In all the time that I have been a TA, this is the first time that I have seen a Canadian resident rate with DCL. Maybe before my time? I usually find that January is one of the months which the cruise fare is lowest for DCL. The best rates are also the earlier you book, not later if you are waiting for a last minute deal. DCL pricing always goes up from when the rates are first available. If you are flexible as to when you can go, then the month of January is a great time rate wise.

I have seen them before...not often...but they have had a few more promo's of late that usual.

:thumbsup2

Just saw this. wow! 25% off is HUGE. also looking at FREE Dining in Feb or March guess the economy really does suck for them. Poor Disney...Yeah us!!!!

Question? There doesn't seem to be a way to apply the Discount online.
So the Feb 5 - 7night Caribbean Cruise for 2 Adults 1 - 12 yr old and 1 - 9 yr old
comes to $3730.76. Category 09C - Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Am I getting 25% off that price or is that already included the 25% ???????? :confused3

Trying to price the diff between a cruise (which we would LOVE to do) vs a trip to the World with FREE dining.

To be sure you're getting the discount, when you go through the reservation, when it gives you the price it should specify you're getting both the Canadian resident 25% discount and the $25 online booking discount.

I can't find a code anywhere, I googled, checked mousesavers etc...??

See, this is EXACTLY the reason I use a Canadian TA. This offer is the third one specific to Canadians over the years that my TA has applied to my vacation for me. A long time ago, I used a US based agency (Your Magical Journey) and a Canadian discount came out. By the time they found out about it (I ended up telling them), it was no longer available.

It kills me how the US agencies don't even have the information posted when the offer is Canadian specific until about a week after the fact. :sad2:

I take it that you haven't been a TA for very long? I ask because my TA just got me this EXACT SAME 25% discount on my 5 night July cruise. :thumbsup2

I also use a Canadian TA & that is how I found out about the special.
(I'm the OP on this thread) But wow.... you were able to get the 25% off for July??? That is fantastic!! Is there a different special out?

Thanks!

I have NEVER used a TA to book a cruise or a WDW trip as I can always find the best deals on their website on my own. Most TA seem to wait until they are sent the codes.... in stead of researching for themselves. Both the Disney Site and the Cruise site has the codes posted under special offers.
We booked Kids Sail Free through Disney and were told we were the 1st people to book it in the system last year.... pays to be aware... :)

Hi! Yep, it was offered back in January. I went back through my emails for you, it was valid for travel between April 22nd and August 29th but on 3, 4 and 5 night sailings only.

My awesome TA emails me to say "Great News...you just saved..." before I even read about it on Mousesavers and the like. :sad2:

My sister had re-booked on board, so her savings wasn't nearly as much (only about $150). But hey, every little bit helps :thumbsup2

Edited to add - SAGE I just realized that my previous post reads that I got the savings for NEXT July. Sorry, it was for this past (2010) July. Sorry for the confusion!!

LOL.... I got ahead of myself thinking it was for July 2011.
I would have been in Orlando today & leaving for a 4 day on Aug 29th.
Unfortunately a family member had a medical situation and I am the only caregiver... canceled the trip. I'd better ban myself from the boards for a while...:rolleyes1 Clearly I need a Disney vacation. :lmao:

Awe, sorry you had to cancel your trip SAGE  But there is always a 'next time'. :)

NOt sure if the TAs on the post couldanswer this but, do I pay a premium booking through you? I am interested in getting a quote for 3 people (2 adult, 1 child 8yo) and we would go Cat 12 GTY. Cheapest price is what I want. Dates are flexible. Itinerary is flexible. Double dip would be great, not sure if any are during the sale. Also, any deals around Christmas time - week after is fine....

If anyone wants to PM, that would be great. This is totally in the 'get a feel for the price' stage so no pressure, but I would really appreciate it. :thumbsup2

Most TA's do not charge a fee to use their services, we get paid a commission through Disney, and you'd still get the same price as you would booking yourself.
The 25% off deal is for 7-night cruises only I believe, so you wouldn't be able to do a back to back (unless you wanted back to back 7-nighters for a total of 14 nights).

Hi all,
I normally have been posting on the DCL forum, but I saw this offer on Friday Aug 27th, and asked my travel agent to look into it, as we had already depositied $1000.00 US for our upcoming Feb 5th 7 day Western Magic Cruise. Our party of 4 (my wife, my friend, myself and my son who will be 12 when we cruise) are really happy we got the deal, after originally booking in March this year into a dec 2 (large porthole) 9B cat stateroom. We ended up having to cancel the original res, but were able to get a cabin down the hall on the same deck. The savings are almost unprecedented, as DCL has to be having issues filling the ship for those "Value season" sailings. I think the new Disney Dream is cannibalizing sales as there are a ton of people on the DCL forum that have sailed Magic and Wonder so many times, they are interested in the new ship.

Considering for our party, full list price for our party of 4 at the time was $3840.00 USD and if we had booked an even later time in the month Feb26th sailing, the price would have jumped to nearly $5000.00 USD. With our cruise for 4people in a Cat 9 coming in at $2934.00 USD, those are incredible prices for DCL!

As an aside, we had to give up our early dining slot, and are waitlisted, but as others said its over 5 months away, and at the 75 day payment in full date, sometimes things open up. All in all, you can even try to get dining changed right up to when you are first on the ship, so we are hopeful. My family like eating around 6 PM, not at 8:30 PM!!

FWIW,

I can't access email from work, but I was just on the Crusie board and found that there is now a Kids Sail Free discount for 7 day Caribbean. Not sure if it for us or not but thought I'll let you all know in case you can save some bucks.

And while your at it, can yo please send some pixie dust that they will have a special for the 3 or 4 day cruise as well:wizard:

They do. For inside stateroom categories for a large number of 3 night Bahamian sailings between Sept 9 until Dec 16th and 4 night sailings from October 17 until Dec 5th.

Do you collect Aeroplan miles by chance? That's the tangerine and white card loyalty program with Air Canada and CIBC? The travel agency I work for redeems and awards aeroplan miles towards cruises. A number of families who I have booked on disney cruises use their miles to help pay off the balance, and it is a great way to save money, and earn points as well. I'm sure a number of other travel companies as well have a redeemption system for various types of reward cards if you collect certain types of points that you can use towards a Disney cruise if that helps your family's dream of a DCL cruise come true

They do have specials?? I can't seem to find anything on DCL website. What is the special like?

I do collect Aeroplan miles. I don't have too many as I'm more an Airmiles kinda gal. I'll have to look into this.

I priced out the Canadian discount and the kids sail free discount and they worked out to exactly the same cost for us. We are able to stay at the Beach Club on the deluxe dining plan (fd) for cheaper so we went with that instead:thumbsup2

Hmmmmm you must be with ECSC as am I...;)

I knew you would figure it out Minnie ;) Are you going to be attending the World Explorer event next month?

My 2 Princesses, it doesn't take as many aeroplan miles as some might think to put towards a cruise , and you get the bonus of earning miles for every cruise purchased to put towards future flights, a lovely land package with Air Canada Vacations or another cruise :)

With ECSC our company is a preferred partner with Disney and we have some awesome amenities and bonuses for a number of Disney cruises, especially for Alaska of 2011, a few Mexico and Caribbean itinearies. Maybe some of the other agents here can share some of the specials their agencies have for DCL? I know it is a more expensive vacation option compared to others so it is always nice to find a way to save money or get some kind of bonus for this incredible product. I can certainly understand pricing a Walt Disney World package against a cruise to see which is less expensive, but the two products are very different from one another and magical in very unique ways :) While a cruise could cost more, the value and features of a DCL cruise far outweigh the cost, and the memories and experience do last long after the cruise is over :)
