Me Too, :headache:

Wanted to head to Atlanta, but work and finances said otherwise, so DD and I will be at Citrus bowl. Even thinking about heading over early for the Blue Man gig :goodvibes hopefully the weather reports are correct, dont want a repeat of 09

Enjoy the TOC Pinnie, and see ya sunday Mike

Let me tell you that any ideas that the TOC format wouldn't work were blown out of the water last night! As much as I am anti G8, the show last night rocked!

Kids from corps were mingling with the incoming crowd and giving some 'performances" by the souvie trucks. We saw the SCV cymbal line (complete with the viper in slow motion), Crown and Phantom Percussion lines, etc. The show itself was very good, and the venue was perfect. I enjoyed the short encore performances after each corp put on their show. It was very crowd friendly and it was a packed stadium.

Nothing but good things to say about the Murfreesboro TOC. Now to sit home until finals week!!!!

Yeah, BOSTON...Less than a point from SCV and more than a point over Madison... Madison must still have the flu I guess... :lmao: (sorry Mike, I had to ;)) I best watch what you put in my drink in a couple weeks...:)

I can live with anything as long as someone takes out Blue Devils! UGH!

:scared1: Due to mechanical issues.... Madison will not be at the show in Orlando tonight :headache:
pretty sure that means no live DCI for me this year:mad::mad:

Just got the news, well we still have Glassmen and BAC! Oh joy! :sad2:

Back in my day we never missed a show! We crammed 132 people in two busses, but damnit, we made it! Just sayin!

DD is on laptop trying to figure finances and hotels in Indi:confused3 certainly not gettin my hopes up as it seems not to be my year :headache:
Hope ya have fun tonight and the show doesn't get rained out!

A friend of mine just got a great rate at a Radison, I think ticket sales for finals are down this year....

So, I had two rehearsals yesterday, 12-4 with Rockland Defenders alum corps and 4:30 - 9 with Mass Brass to get ready for Thursday nights show in Lawrence, also got 50 yard line seats for the show following our performances. So, once again, quick uniform change from one corps to the other, then settle in to watch SCV, Cadets, BD's and Boston...could be the night that BAC overtakes SCV.. Really looking forward to Key Poulan hearing us for the first time with his charts... What a great writer he is!!!!

Thoughts on the Orlando show....

That stadium is nasty! Our seats were covered in bird crap an inch deep, and the stench was unbearable! Think Manning Bowl! ;) We were in luck as there were a bunch of seats right below us that were clean and we snagged two of them.

Teal - Not impressed. Very dirty for the end of July, and sorry, but violins just chap my rear!

Glassmen - Interisting show, I think they missed the ball in the theming department a little. Who is this couple and why should I care about them?

BK - Loved their show! "From Revere Massachusettes the Blue Knights!" :rotfl2:

Boston - Really liked the show, but dont understand why they took two wonderful pieces and mixed them together? Both pieces have enough material to cover a 10 minute show, but I guess it's "artistic" LOL The Ballad had me chocking back tears, so beautiful! I dont like the uniforms, they are "too red", I thought the orriginal uniforms were a darker red, Hmmm maybe they were just old! LOL And why does the drum line change plumes half way through the show, am I missing something?

The best part of the show for me was the instant encore's! I think DCI should really look into adding this to more shows! I really appreciated some of the music, especially Blue Knights!

Well, guess you didn't miss anything since you saw them change plumes. :lmao:

Yeah, I heard about that encore thing...well hoping they do it this Thursday...my pocket HD camcorder will be waiting.. :thumbsup2

I was at DCI Atlanta and was very entertained by the top 8(and of course my Blue Stars) I don't understand some of the scoring, but who does? I introduced my bf to DCI and while he was bored at the 2 corps after the BlueStars, he was really into it by the time the top 5 came.

The more I look at some of these "Instant Encore" things the more I like it!

Gives a corps time to play their corps song or a signature tune...or sometimes just something awsmome! :thumbsup2

Yep, I like that too...kind of reminds me of days past when we used to play ourselves off the field after full corps retreat, when you could either play a celebratory tune, or a revenge type, I'll show them second place my *** !!!:lmao:

Your right though Mike, very entertaining, kind of like "retro-drum corps". ;)

So... :wizard: tickets are bought, room is booked, DD is in charge of airline We're headed to Finals :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

a Dis meet after?

Mike, looking for help with prelims seats. ideas?

We are driving down to Indy on Tuesday and will be there until Sunday. Home base will be at the Staybridge Suites across the street from Lucas Oil. We will be at all 3 nights performances! We will also be attending the Friends of DCI breakfast prior to the parade on Saturday.

I noticed they are putting the souvies on the main floor this year as opposed to downstairs. Also the main entrance will be on the EAST side of the stadium.

See everyone there!

Smart move! I had to leave a trail of bread crumbs last year to find my way back! :lmao:

Cadets beat BD and Cavies at their home show! :cool1:
