Hi Dis-ers:

Thought I'd take a survey: How much have you paid (recently) RT from DCA to MCO? We make the trip ~one a year (sometimes twice) and I've paid anywhere from $160 ish (several years ago) to $340 (2 years ago). I just found RT tickets on US Air for $250 (traveling in late Feb). I'm thinking I should take them, but hoping for a better deal. (That's always the case, right?). Thoughts?

Have you looked at Jet Blue? I don't know that the current rates are but we paid about $180 (including taxes) for round trip seats in November 2012.

Nonstops to/from MCO for the rest of this year on JetBlue are currently running about $99-135 each way. I doubt they will go down next year.

The amount depends very much on the day you fly. Check Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the lowest fares. Highest seems to be Fridays and Sundays.

I have a one-way on March 15 (a Saturday) for $122. The return is a reward flight, but it is on a Wednesday and would have cost $101 if I booked it today.

When we booked JB they had just started flying out of DCA and I had suspected the fares may have been promotional or loss leaders. They were about 1/2 of Southwest out of BWI at the time.

Most of my 2013 current flights were booked for $80-90 but the going lowest rate now appears to be $99.

Thanks for the feedback. We generally do Jet Blue, and the rates are usually fair. My dates for our 2014 trip aren't flexible (Half Marathon!) so I'm thinking $250 is going to be about as good as it gets. I've seen a few slightly better rates on other carriers, but only with layovers, which is a deal breaker for me on such a short flight.
