DCA parade and switching parks

I have a question (O.K. a bunch of questions) about the new parade in Califonia Adventure. What's the best way/place to see it, and if we leave the park right after the parade to switch parks to Disneyland how much time am I going to lose in the transfer? Will there be more people switching after the parade or at 6pm when it closes? Can I see the first part of the parade then run down past grizzly river and sneak out of the park before the parade hits the plaza? What areas can you not get past durring the parade? It looks like you can still sneak through the lower right of the sunshine plaza.
