Has anyone does the Trainer for a Day package at Discovery Cove? I would love to do it but I have some reservations. The site says you need to be in good shape but what exactly does that mean... be able to swim for an extended length of time? Climb up and down stairs repeatedly? I'm lost. :confused3 If anyone has done it, what kind of things do you do? How is the double foot push? It sounds exciting, but also a little nerve wracking. :rotfl:

Any and all details would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

I've done the trainer for a day package at dolphin quest in Hawaii and DC is built on that model. It is essentially an extended dolphin interaction broken up throughout the day. You do get some private time with the dolphins, but you also join other groups as well. Plus you help prepare the food, administer fluids and medicines, as well as assist trainers with training.

In terms of the health requirements, I think it's just a basic disclaimer. You may be walking across uneven/slick surfaces, you may need to bend, stoop, reach, squat, swim, climb a ladder or steps, etc... Nothing too difficult for the average person, but impossible for some.

Thank you so much! It sounds exactly like something I'd LOVE to do. :) We're seriously considering doing it in December. Hopefully I can find out a little bit more when we go in July. Thanks again!
