How far in advance do you recommend that I make a reservation for Discovery Cove? We are planning on visiting Orlando in late April, but we are not sure if we will have the extra money for DC.

Also, does rain/thunderstorms affect operations at DC?

Hi! In case no-one's said it, Welcome to the DIS!!!

Discovery Cove accept reservations months in advance - as of today, they're accepting bookings up till September 8th next year, so a little over a year in advance!

As long as your trip isn't during a busy period such as christmas, thanksgiving weekends, easter weekend etc, then you *should* be fairly safe leaving it till 2 or 3 months out. If it's a busy time then I'd suggest booking it ASAP. Naturally it's always best to book as far in advance as you able to in order to maximise the chance of getting the dates you want - remember they only let in 1000 guests a day.

Thanks,

Barry

Hi

We hyave just returned form a trip to Discovery Cove. I booked this last October for our August trip, the main reason was I paid it before the large balance of our holiday was due, and I wanted to do it 2 years ago but it was fully booked.

On the day we went the sun was shining in the morning but by lunch time the cloud cover had formed and the rain began we still swam, but then there was a report of lighting and thunder within a 10 mile radius, so we all had to get out of the pools and off of the island, until it had passed through, luckily it was over in about 30 minutes and didn't spoil our day at all.

If i can be of any more help please feel free to ask me.
