DC Metro--question

Can you pay for Metro tickets with a credit card at the kiosks? TIA!

We don't want all day passes. We need to get 4 ones-ways to the Mall and then 4 one ways back to the park and ride. We determined it's less expensive for us to do the 8 tickets than 4 all day passes.

But figure out the round trip fare (take rush hours into consideration) and buy the four tickets for the amount that you need. This way you only have to buy the tickets in the morning and not twice during the day.

Thanks for the info! We're going for a long daytrip tomorrow. It's been a few years since we've been there, and we're looking forward to it. This will be the first time we'll see the American History Smithsonian since it's been re-done.

We just went a few weekends ago, and yes you can use your cc at the kiosk for your tickets. Like you I planned on getting the one way pass to and the pass back and honestly...the day pass was cheaper. Gave us the ability to come and go regardless of the time. Just be aware that you may have to hang out, pick a second museum to get past the rush hour time frame and the cheaper prices. I believe they end somewhere around 6 pm and start around 3!

Thanks, everyone! We went yesterday and had a great time! We were able to buy 4 $5.00 passes with my cc and that was good to/from the Smithsonian stop because there are no rush hour fares on weekends.

We saw the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Monument, Vietnam Wall, White House (snapped a photo from a distance), the American History Smithsonian, and Natural History Smithsonian. It was a fantastic day!
