Did anyone feel the earthquake this morning? My alarm went off at 5am this morn. A few minutes later I felt this rumble which lasted maybe two seconds. I simply thought it was my wife who may have slammed the shower door a little harder than normal, causing a thunder. So I just rolled over and snoozed a few more minutes. Come to find out later it was a earthquake. Pretty uneventful.

I didn't feel it, but my husband did. And the weird thing is that when it happened he looked at his watch and it was 5:04 a.m. Which freaked him out because the last earthquake he was in was the 1989 quake in San Francisco, which happened at 5:04 (p.m.).

I think it was Dodd and Franks so called consumer protection bill that slipped off a desk and hit the floor. Over 2300 pages long. I'm sure they all have read it before they passed it :rolleyes1

WASHINGTON — The largest earthquake ever recorded near the capital rattled Washington, D.C., early Friday, waking many residents but causing no reported damage.

The quake hit at 5:04 a.m. ET with a magnitude of 3.6, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered near Rockville, Md., the USGS said.

NBC News reported that the quake was felt in the D.C.-area, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

We are in Baltimore right now but we didn't feel anything. The funny thing is that I woke up just after 5am, and rolled over and went back to sleep. Now I am wondering if that is what woke me up. :rotfl2: I have been waiting for after shocks all day!!

Great...something else to worry about :-/ .

But, no, I didn't feel it, not sure if folks around my neighborhood felt it or not...I'll have to ask.

agnes!

Ha, I felt it, but I was sleeping and thought I was dreaming! I remember thinking "this feels like an earthquake!". LOL

Yes my entire family felt it!!

We'd just gotten home from our 14 hour drive (straight thru with only bathroom stops) back from 10 days in WDW :faint:

No one had gone to bed yet & DS12 was the first to realize what was happening, stating, "I think we're having an earthquake!"

I didn't feel anything but I thought I heard something.

Right at about that time I was getting ready to leave for work. It sounded like my garage door was being pushed on. It freaked me out thinking that maybe someone was in my garage and I opened the door to look into it but nothing. I then figured it must have been my dog making noise while she was eating out of her metal bowl.

DANG! We have got a 14 hour drive coming up to go home from here & I DREAD it!! We will break it up though. I don't think I could make it straight through.

DH was in the Baltimore area this morning, but did not feel it. While he was at the airport, he kept hearing people talking about an earthquake. We are originally from California, so an earth quake in the 3.0 range would not even cause us to bat an eye. Maybe that's why dh didn't feel it.

See - nothing to it!! You feel them (or not) no damage and life goes on.

I lived in CA all my life, until about 4 years ago. I was born and lived in Pleasant Hill. In the late 70's we were having a lot of rolling earthquakes. Those were scary!! 3.0, pashaw! lol.

What's with the earthquakes recently? We felt the one in Canada pretty darn good here in upstate NY back in June..

I don't like it when the weather acts "weird"..
