Was just told yesterday that I can book a last minute trip to Disney for November 17 - 22. DH, DD, me & Dad - we would like to get a suite so we have some privacy;) - I can get a suite there for $59.64 a night (taxes & surcharges included). We aren't planning on spending alot of time there - pretty much just to rest & sleep - would you go there? Please let me know - I need to book - 8 weeks from today:Pinkbounc :earseek:

go look on
www.skyauction.com

click on US/canada -

the click on over to the side - Florida

the click on again over to the side and at the bottom - hotels only

you are only looking at the 7 days (these are the timeshares) - in Kissimmee, Lake buena Vista and Orlando (only)

once you find something you might like - come back here and ask before you bid

you would be better (if you can manage it ) arriving on the 12th, 13th or 14th = timeshares are generally available on the weekend to weekend.

I would have say the 19th, 20th or 21st - but that would include Thankgiving week - very popular and very hard to get!!!

there is one right now - Vacation Villa - no bids - so if you wait until tomorrow - don't want to bid until the last few minutes.... you should be able to get this resort for $195 + $15 + your bid - say from $1 to $10 - so for around $221 you get a whole week 2-bedroom....

Vacation villa is not the best but it is not a dog either.

the Sheraton Vistana is probably one of the best offered on skyauction - but it is already $229 +$195+$15 - so $439 and the bid won't be closed until tomorrow.

also look at the fall/winter specials - that could work for you too

I hated Days suites and I also second skyauction. Cheaper and a thousand times nicer.

Hello!

I don't think Days Suites at Old Town gets very good reviews. As an alternative, Comfort Suites Maingate East is in the same area. It seems to get good reviews, and can be had for about $50 plus tax and resort fees.

As far as skyauction, it seems like it is possible to bid for a seven night stay only. Is this true?

with the timeshares yes - 7 night only.

the hotels and other places - some timeshares not in RCI and houses - 1 to 14, or 1 to 7 - because of the extra $32 per night, not per bid like the RCI timeshares, these are generally not as good as a buy - sometimes their own websites has these cheaper.

So I only recommend the timeshares.

We stayed there in 2001 on our first ever trip to WDW and although I've stayed in nicer hotels, it wasnt THAT bad. Our room was clean and roomy, so if thats all your after, I wouldnt be afraid to recommend them.

A few comments...

We stayed at Days Suites in Nov. 2002. At the time, I had no problem with it and recommended it to a couple of folks who stayed there after us and also were fine with it. I liked being right next to Old Town and being able to walk over there in the evening after getting pack from Disney.

That said, however, I have since learned of other places that are similarly priced but nicer. Skyauction is definitely worth a look. Even if you pay for 7 nites and only stay for 5, it is still worth it. We're staying at Orbit One Vacation Villas in October. We've got a 2-bed, 2-bath condo for $261/week. Even if we only stayed 5 nites, that would make the price/nite just $52.20.

You can also look into renting a condo at a place like Windsor Palms. Offseason you might find a deal on a 2-bed for somewhere in that same price range. Check www.vrbo.com and www.closesttodisney.com

We have stayed at the Days Suites 3 times and we will never do it again! To me, they felt very unsafe. The rooms were dirty and old. The only reason we stayed there as much as we did was because we were able to get an employee rate of $25 per night. I wouldn't stay there now if you paid we $25 per night. They seem to be a popular place for school groups as well and the kids were not very well behaved (and got sick outside our door!).

I just got an email and it had the Days suites for 39.95 for your dates, if you decide you want to still stay there.

email me at sln88@yahoo.com if you want the info
