We are off for our Disney fix in October, minus a car. Managed very well without a car last time, but wanted to go a little further afield this time. Perhaps to one of the big shopping malls or to Kennedy. We are going with Virgin and they do coach trips to various places. Is it better to book with Virgin before we go or wait until we arrive, and then book with them, or with someone like Mears? (if they do such trips)

Hi, we always go to Disney and stay on site without a car (because we're on holiday and no-one wants to drive), we usually spend a couple of days at Universal/IOA and take the Mears shuttle as it's so convenient (sorry, but I can't remember how much, but my father is quite 'economical' with money and he thinks it's a good deal!). We also go shopping to the Florida Mall, Beltz and Premium Outlets and take cabs so we can hop between the Malls as and when we want. Everyone has different views on how expensive the cabs are but as I've already said my father is quite 'economical' and thinks the cabs are quite good :) We did the Virgin Kennedy trip and didn't book it until we arrived at the hotel last time and there was no problem with availability. I'm sure it'll be OK leaving until you arrive before you book, afterall Virgin want their guests to spend money with them.

The return adult fare to Universal from Disney hotels is $12.
