Days off

I recently emailed them to ask for a weekend in July off for my son's birthday and they approved it, so I think it depends on the reason.

Mine is a family reunion in Boston Labor Day weekend and it was approved also. I think a random I want a day off won't be, but for a good reason, they're flexible.

How it usually works is they either approve or deny you it depends on how many people ask for the day off before you. When you start working you usually have the same days off. Usually being the key word. So planning things will be easier if you use your regular days off.
I wouldnt contact recruiting because they are going to tell you that it has to be done over the hub. :D Hope you enjoy your program.

That is incorrect. I e-mailed recruiting and this is the e-mail I got back

Greetings Christina,

I have received your time off request for the following dates: September 4-6, 2010

I am pleased to inform you that your request for time off has been approved!

It is important to remember that once you are in your work location you may request additional time off with your leader; however these are only requests and are not guaranteed for approval.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Have a magical day!

Since it was mentioned in my original e-mail to her that I'd be needing to go to Boston, I'd assume that if they tell you you're approved, you're approved.

I would save that e-mail just in case your work schedule has you scheduled for work those dates. That way, you could take it to your manager and show them that you have been approved to have those days off. Just in case, an error is made.
