Just had to speak up...sooo glad I'm not the only one who dislikes the new Belle! I thought maybe I was being too hard on her...hard to watch a new actor/actress play a long standing role...but she's just bad....really bad!

Also very glad to have found this thread...I have been watching Days since I was a little girl; my grandmother watched the show faithfully and since she got the honor of staying with me while my mom was at work (and later when I was home sick from school), we would sit for that hour and it was the rule that we would not answer the phone or talk unless it was during a commercial!

So everybody on here thinks the guy who plays Philip is a bad actor? (Kyle/Real World) I thought he was pretty good. Maybe thats because I love Real World. I agree that both the new Belles have sucked! I just want Shawn out of the cage because it's getting so old!

I thought it was a crappy wig. I saw a picture of the new recast actress, her hair is like the wig Belle wore yesterday, so I guess they are starting the transition.

Hopefully it will pick up next week, next Friday (13th) is the last day before a 2 week break for the Olympics, there should be a big cliffhanger.

I too am so tired of Shawn in the birdcage storyline & Jack & Jennifer lost in the jungle (will someone PLEASE rescue these people already!!!!)

I am interested to see just what the major cliffhanger will be next Friday.

I do like the pairing of Victor & Caroline though. That could be a great stroyline in the making

I am thinking maybe the "host" was able to somehow drug Marlena. like through a computer chip???, & that was how he/she was able to get the buffet set up?

I read today that they are bringing back the character of Billie! She has already been casted & will start her air date on Sept 13th, I believe
I have NEVER been a fan of Billie Reed so I don't know how I feel about this yet

I have been a Days fan since I was in high school (mid 60's), and this is the longest streach where I can't watch every day. It is too painful to see how awful the show has gotten! Trite STUPID story lines and NOTHING that holds my interest at all. I think the new Philip is good, but the new Belle has GOT to go! The last time this writer was in charge, was the Marlena possessed storyline, and I quit watching then too. I think they need to send him back from whence he came!

I am interested to see just what the major cliffhanger will be next Friday.

I'll bet it will have something to do with Jack & Jennifer hanging off another cliff. Maybe Jennifer will give birth on that little ledge, with the help of Patrick, of course. Then the baby will probably fall off the cliff, so they'll all have to save him/her. Or maybe they will all fall in a hole and the baby will somehow rescue them all!! LOL The sky's the limit with these DOOL writers!!

I've been watching off and on for way too many years now, and does it seem to anyone else that the writing/storylines get worse during the summer?

I think it has to do with trying to interest the school kids and keeping the show on the "Dude, Where's My Car" level for those months.

I agree. This storyline has gone long enough. I'm just hoping it's been dragging lately because of the big cliffhanger before the Olympics. I heard the cliffhanger had to with John. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I heard Jennifer will have her baby and Jack will finally be with her, but someone takes the baby, grrrrr.

Shawn will probably finally break free of that bird cage....

Will Sami say yes to Lucas's proposal??

The new Belle will sleep with Philip and probably Shawn will walk in.

John-who knows what that will be, he will probably find out about the island.

Yeah, I figure once Belle has done the deed with Philip, Shawn will return, and once everyone else does the deed with old loves, everyone will be reunited....all miserable and p.o.'d about it all...

Well, if John is the only "brains" in Salem, then the town is in for a whole lot of trouble...LOL

ANd how many more vine ropes are going to snap?

I thought it was pretty funny when Patrick fell off the cliff and then climbed up to Jen. THen he was able to throw the coin up to Hope.

I have not watched the one from today but was the girl yesterday the same one as last week . I think my son may be right she looks different yet I knwo the newest Belle wont start till next week . Would they have a 3rd Belle before the 4th ( new) Belle came on ?

Isn't that the truth! He's been annoying me since that whole 80's flashback in the submarine episode with Hope/Princess Gina/whoever.

The look on Marlena's face today when she saw him and Kate dancing was priceless!

I also thought the look on Julie's face when Mickey and Bonnie were dancing was priceless. I really enjoy the scenes between Julie and Bonnie, they're really funny and it helps break up the monotony that's been going on the show for the past few weeks.

I found out that John and Kate are going to sleep together in a moment of lonliness and grief over Roman & Marlena. Maybe the big event next Friday will be that Roman and Marlena watch them on the TV in New Salem!

It's the same no-ability-to-act Belle with what looks to be extensions or a wig....yuck.....whatever, it is NO improvement.
